UC Davis New Grad RN residency 2016

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello everyone! I thought I would start a thread for those of us applying so we can keep each other updated with interview calls, job offers, etc.

Chrisahern I know when I applied it took me exactly 3 months to get my ATT. My transcripts were also not sent until after I graduated so hopefully you can get your right to test in time :) Just keep studying and take it as soon as you can!

Hi shine4!

I did have my senior preceptorship there, and I read from previous threads that that's how UC Davis places you. My interview will be on Thursday. Suuuuuper nervous, as this is my first nursing interview. Good luck! I hope you do as well =]

Hi everyone,

I have not graduated yet, but this is my dream hospital. I am trying to plan throughout the next year as I approach graduation. I am going to be a senior in January and wanted to know if anyone else had more than one senior preceptorship? At this point, it looks like I will have three because I have been selected to have preceptorships for my pediatric and critical care clinicals, in addition to the capstone clinical at the end of the year. How do I approach putting that on my resume? Also, there are about three top areas I am interested in. How did you all go about addressing this in your cover letter?

Does anyone know if people get hired without having a senior preceptorship? My program did not have one...definitely a bummer since it is much more of a focus for new grad programs in the Bay Area compared to SoCal where I went to school. It never said it was required but obviously it was heavily stressed to include your senior preceptorship on the resume. TIA!

I'm in the same boat. It doesn't say required, but I've done things outside of school like I did an internship offered through an organization and ton of volunteer work. Hopefully it works out for all of us :)

Has anyone heard back from Trauma Nursing Unit, or any of the ICU units?

Hi all! I got called for an interview in the GI Lab. Good luck to us all. I'm very nervous about this panel interview!!

My classmate had an interview on Tuesday for the ICU/CCU.

I haven't heard anything yet :( :( prayers for all

Hello all, Just joining the thread. I did my preceptorship in the ICU, but got an interview for the GI Lab (I saw a few folks got calls for that dept). I have no info about the panel interview, and couldn't find anything about GI Lab from previous cohorts. Good luck, everyone!

they have started calling people for job offers.

Good Luck to all

I intern in the Cath Lab. It is very similar. Nursing will be procedural sedation, maybe some codes, pre/intra/post operative care. Patients may need G-tubes or drain placements, may see some liver cancer, cirrhosis, pancreatic ca procedures.
