UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020

Published

Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

Yes it’s usually the nurse managers whom contact you through phone to schedule an interview. It seems like they haven’t been contacting anyone yet since nobody has been saying anything. Either they don’t want to jinx it or they’re just lying and trying to stir the pot.

wondering if maybe they’re not taking many new grads this time around

For the two units I interviewed with, I was told we would hear back by next week! Good luck everyone

That’s what I was thinking too. When I talked to the nurses there during my preceptorship, I was told some managers like to rotate hiring new grads and experienced RNs.

Oh cool! What units did you interview in? Did you precept in one of them?

I interviewed with East 8 Med surg specialty and Tower 3. I didn't have any clinical rotations at UCDMC. I don't have my RN license and am external.

WOW! thats impressive! What unit did you do your senior preceptorship on?

I did it on a general med-surg floor because of COVID.

I did after the interview! I only had to fill it out once.

Does anyone know when Sept-start date candidates will find out about receiving interviews?
