Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

Did you get an interview? What type of unit did you do your senior preceptorship in? The type of unit I did mine in is not hiring I heard ? My application does say under review though...although I have read it does not mean much, and it appears everyones says that.

I was at UCDMC too, no interview as of right now. To my understanding everyone says under review on their application with or without interview. What unit were you on?
I did my preceptorship in a trauma unit, not here at UCDMC though, although I did volunteer here at UCDMC on a trauma unit. I talked to some peeps there and they are not hiring in that unit, but mine may have been routed to another trauma unit there, or not and is dead in the trash can! This process does take a toll though. I hope you get an interview! Maybe this week, they are still calling people, in fact last round they called people up until the last month.

Thank you! And good luck to you too! Even if you don’t get a call for ER, you could get one for their trauma med surg unit
I’m flying in for my interview tomorrow!! Not from sac area so.. for those who are familiar with the hospital. Is it fairly easy to navigate around the hospital?? If I tell the Lyft driver to drop me off at the main entrance, that’ll be easy to find the Children’s Surgery Center Waiting Room?

Yes the front of the med center is obvious so you shouldn’t have an issue there. there is a front desk before the mural in the main lobby. if you ask for directions they will be very helpful and might give you a map. just be prepared to answer the covid questionnaire, show it to the people at the front and get your temp taken as a part of the screening process before entering the hospital. there shouldn’t be a line but I would allow for extra time just in case
