UC Davis MEPN 2020

Hello everyone!

I did not see a thread for UC Davis MEPN 2020 start so I thought I would start this since applications open up next week ? has anyone written a personal statement? I can't find any specific guidelines for what to include

Damn...I was so hopefully to hear back tomorrow. I got Accepted to USF same program but really like Davis. Their classes starts next Thursday was expecting this decision but I guess not!

When I emailed them about the transcripts, they said not to worry! The uploading of transcripts will not affect admissions. Mine are not uploaded yet either.

Wow! Congrats on getting into USF, when did you find out?

Since November,..but I really just prefer Davis I don't know why!

After these findings, I assume that we wont be able hear from admission today or tomorrow at all.

I would personally choose USF over Davis even though Davis sounds better because Davis’ NCLEX pass rates rank the lowest out of a majority of the CA nursing MSN programs.

USF is significantly more expensive and has had recent staffing issues with faculty (from my friends report). Davis has only had 3 cohorts take the NCLEX, so although the rate is low it is due to it being a newer program (less than 50 have taken it so far, the 3rd cohort is about to take it which will give us 48 more results) and they are working significantly hard to improve it! We have a lot of NCLEX style work and I feel prepared. If anyone wants to talk about deciding on a school let me know, I chose Davis at the last second and have not regretted it once! ?

I am really kind of leaning towards Davis if final decisions are made and I got acceptance. I have read through the two schools and still prefers Davis. USF Orientation is tomorrow and classes are on Mondays and Thursdays only. So as a current Davis nursing student what's your take I have already made up my mind for Davis if I get accepted. So what's the actual cost for Davis as well. USF is around 97k for the program. I save my spot way back November but have being just dragging feets with other commitments. Pls I am open to thoughts and personal recommendations. I am so stress waiting for this final decision which is taking like forever!!

Are you going to start the USF program just in case?

Yeah...Classes starts next Thursday since Monday will be a holiday! I don't want to let go what I already have in anticipation for what I am not sure of! An African saying, ( A bird in hand is worth twice in the bush)!

UCD site says that the program is $107,118. Did you already pay for classes at USF?

Not yet,..but will be paying shortly maybe this weekend, I was not holding out for Davis! But can't wait if final decision is not forthcoming.
