Hello everyone!

I did not see a thread for UC Davis MEPN 2020 start so I thought I would start this since applications open up next week ? has anyone written a personal statement? I can't find any specific guidelines for what to include

Just got the email that I passed the first round! Does anyone know how hard it is to pass the next round? I know admission isn't guaranteed after this

Oh sure! I have a 3.47 GPA from my bachelor's in General Biology from UCSC, got all As and one B (in Written communication D:) for my prereqs. I've worked as a CNA for 3 years, one in a nursing home and 2 in hospitals. I also got into Medical school in Budapest, Hungary (I was born there) and attended there for a year training to be an MD. I left the program because I fell in love with a guy who has two boys and came back to be with him and now I don't have time to be an MD!! But I love the medical field and nursing is dope so I'm pursuing that. I wasn't sure if leaving a med school program would be good or bad for me but I guess it's good so far.

Btw I have a friend who finished the program recently and she said to really tailor your essay to their mission statement/core value stuff so I did that

I’m moving forward! What does this mean? What is the next step?

If accepted to round two, the email should tell you everything you need to do. Basically we apply with a whole new profile and application to the UC Davis graduate admissions and then will hear the final results in January.

I didn't get in my first try last year. This year I spent a lot of time reflecting why I wanted this. I improved some of my grades, had much better letters of recommendation, wrote a much more direct and personal essay so I think that is what helped me move forward comparatively. Don't give up! You can try again ?

Any ideas how many students are they accepting each cohort?

From what I found on the website, 45. You can see the candidates accepted for 2019 and 2020 graduations right now on the school page.

Current student here, there has been 48 students per cohort the past 2 years! Let me know if you have more questions

Oh perfect. Thanks! I was close. Do you know how many are in the second round usually?

Do you have any idea what percentage of people from round one make it into the program? Wondering what my chances are!

Can you give some insight on how you wrote your Personal history and diversity statement.

any insight on the working with a faculty member part of the statement? is there a right way to look up those people?

They don't release how many are in the 2nd round unfortunately. It seems it's significantly narrowed down from the first pool of applicants.
