Hey!
Just wanted to start this for anyone looking to apply to the 2020 cycle for UBC accelerated nursing. Let's share what we'll be applying with and any other info :).

I will suggest you choose UBC or Western Ontario. This based on search for the top nursing schools in canada.

That’s basically what I was stuck between! Just having a hard time differentiating why one or the other. Previously someone stated that UBC does not get as much clinical time but Western does not start in-hospital placement until July? So I am confused. Any insight would be great! ?

Hi there! It's more that UBC has less clinical than the colleges here in the Vancouver area. I don't think that they have less clinical than Western and Ontario programs. Also, I've heard that the Queen's program is really good and a small program. I've heard between Queens and Western that the Queen's program is a bit better. I wouldn't pick Trent over the programs you listed since the program is longer and goes until December whereas the other programs end earlier in the year April/May.

I would recommend to pick the school where you want to work. I would say there's a half chance that you might get something from the connections you form when you almost complete the program.

Have you tried [email protected] or possibly calling? Perhaps they might be away or it might be in the spam email section?

They usually take a really long time to respond, like last time it took around a month for them to get back to me via email. And the phone doesn't work either

The advantage is that UBC is a shortest program available. Other schools offered at the colleges are typically 3 years. However, I have heard that instruction offered at the other schools are better as UBC is very focused on theory, but UBC has modified some of its schedule that allows more clinical time, so it might be that such an opinion is a bit outdated.
