[Advice Needed] Choosing NP Program – UBC vs. Ontario Schools

Hi everyone! I'm trying to decide on a Nurse Practitioner program and would really appreciate your advice. I already have an MSN and am now looking at NP options in Canada (Primary Health Care stream).

My Options:

UBC – Full-time, 2 years, leads to another master's degree.

Ontario Schools (UofT, Queen's, Ottawa, Windsor, etc.) – Mostly part-time or shorter post-master's diplomas (1–2 years).

My Situation:

I'm currently based in Vancouver. The cost of living is high, but I have casual jobs here, so it's manageable for now.

I also have friends in Toronto and Ottawa, so relocating to Ontario would come with some support.

I'm weighing the pros and cons of staying in Vancouver for UBC vs. moving for a shorter/more flexible program in Ontario.

What I'm Considering:

Clinical placement support and Job opportunities and salaries after graduation (especially comparing BC vs. Ontario)**

Program reputation and NP exam readiness

Whether doing another master's vs. a diploma makes a real difference in practice

If anyone has gone through this decision or has insights about the job market, salaries, or NP role differences between provinces, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks in advance ?
