Hey Everyone!
I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?
Thank you!
Had the interview this morning and now the waiting begins..
Questions were really not that bad. I thought the interview was a mix of critical thinking, having work ethics, and knowing who you are and why you are pursuing nursing. Interviewers were super nice and made me feel comfortable.
I wish everyone good luck!

Thank you Hyoon. Sounds like you had a good experience which is awesome!
Good luck to all!! I'm sure everyone will rock it :)
You go to a short orientation in a classroom, then get divided into two groups of 6 applicants. Each group goes to a hallway with a series of 6 stations. You spend 2 minutes reading the question on the door, go in and spend 6 minutes talking to the interviewer. Sometimes you'll talk for a long time on your own, sometimes the interviewer will ask a question or follow-up question. If you're finished discussing the topic, you can stop talking about it and just chat with the interviewer (this doesn't count towards your score). Once you're finished at one station you immediately go to the next, until you're done all 6! I felt like it went by really quickly once I got started, and 6 minutes is a good amount of time to explore each scenario. I think the responses for the scenarios should be intuitive for people who have a some experience in helping/caring work, or who have education in social sciences/critical thinking skills, and have thought a bit about ethical issues.
