UBC Nursing - September 2013

Published

Hey Everyone!

I'm hoping to apply for UBC nursing 2013, but I am a little worried as I haven't volunteered for 2 years. My question is, if I get back into volunteering this summer will my chances of being accepted be higher?

Thank you!

Hi all- how did you find your "score" on the supplemental? I don't see anything on the SSC, did you email the person who sent you info about the interview? Thanks in advance!

If you get an interview you never receive your score back.

Less than a week until interviews start! I am getting so very excited :D Good luck to everyone prepping!

Has anyone who received their invite on thursday or friday received a confirmation of their interview yet? I responded right away but never got a response back.

Yup! My interview is on Friday and I received a confirmation on April 2.

I received my invite just last thursday for the 19th and I haven't received confirmation....should I send another email??

It's probably fine. If you're really worried just call them.

You won't get your supplemental score until weeks after your interview and they inform you of their decision.

How are you all preparing for it?

Does anyone want to meet up this weekend and practice some sample MMI questions?

Which website did you use to find questions on?

I sent them another email and they finally confirmed :) Thank goodness!! I was starting to stress haha!

There are some sample questions on this site.

After examining previous threads regarding the MMI and reading up on the MMI, it doesn't seem like there is a lot that one can prep for. Most sample MMI questions are geared towards Doctors/Dentists and will be different. I am reading up on the CRNBC website on nursing skills, role, and standards, as well as the Nursing Code of Ethics. Also I am making sure I am up-to-date on current health care issues. Otherwise I feel that interview skills will play a huge role as well as my ability to appropriately convey my critical thinking and communication skills. Cultural sensitivity, empathy, and a non-judgemental attitude will also play a big role in my answers.
