UBC BSN September 2017

Published

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

:)

@knchilton10 email sent :)

@wonkknow - I'm so sorry to hear. Please keep your chin up. I have the utmost confidence and faith that you will make an amazing nurse one day! I look forward to reading about your acceptance next year! ;)

Thank you.

@wonkknow

sorry to hear! I'm surprised that you didn't get in if your supplemental was the top 25%; What type of experience do you have with volunteering/work experience?

I'm really sorry to anyone who did not get accepted :( However try not to let this deter you! You are all going to do great things no matter what happens in the future.

Hi d.j., I've a TON of volunteering experience - and have been doing it since 2013. So much so that I've had to pick and chose the activities/roles to enter on my application. I've no healthcare related work experience - I was a designer. My interest in Nursing came when I started to help taking care of a very ill family member.

Some of my 'juicer' volunteer experiences:

Patient flow coordinator at the PACU of a major acute care hospital (yes, this WAS a volunteer role in that hospital)

Volunteer trainer and hygiene evaluator at another hospital

Transportation volunteer - helping patients to appointments, etc...

Cardiac patient support

Bone density research volunteer

Mobility volunteer - helping bed and chair bound patients do simple stretching exercises.

How did you fair d.j.?

@to-be-nurse - any news?

Congrats to everyone getting in!! Does anyone know how the GPAs / averages are being ranked?

No they didn't give any info about that!

Congrats to everyone who got in:) I got in as well, and was super excited as this was my goal. But I also got into a 4 year nursing program, and I am leaning towards the other program. So someone may get my seat :)!

To all who didn't make it in, you got a year to re-evaluate and re-apply again! To those with other acceptances, sad we didn't get to meet but it was good to support each other here! As for all of you that were accepted, CONGRATS and I will see you there because i got my ACCEPTANCE letter too!!!

Sorry, was MIA with chores all day! I am really excited and can finally relax knowing what is happening in the future!
