UBC BSN September 2017

Published

Hi Everyone!

I've been searching for a thread for applicants to UBC's BScN program for September 2017, but I haven't found one. Please feel free to point me in the direction of an existing thread, or add to this one! I'm applying to UBC, U of T, and UWO for September, but UBC is definitely my first choice. Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

:)

I'm a little confused, I thought when I went on the FAQs that UBC said there wouldn't be a waitlist at all. But some people here are saying there is a waitlist?

Also, I don't remember reading about an interview component in the admissions process information. Is there an interview this year?

Thanks!

Hi @triNurse2017 - there isn't a waitlist, but there is a reserve list. I believe they send out 120 offers and then place about 20-30 people on a reserve list in the event that successful applicants decline their offers. And there is no interview component. The CASPer replaced it this year. :)

I'm not sure about the waitlist but interview has been replaced with CASPer which is the first time they are trying it for the class of 2017. With CASPer though, every applicants are eligible to write.

Thank you @tdmah and @EtherealRailgun, that's what I thought the purpose of CASPer was. The reserve list really clears things up :D

Sigh, I'm honestly so tired of waiting lol, I hope we all hear back soon!

rejection letter 13 15 cst. oh well. that means i can go back to ontario

Just received my rejection letter. I was in the bottom 25% for GPA, middle for supplemental, and top 25% for CASPer. At least I have some closure, and know what to work on for next year! Best of luck to the rest of you. Hope to see you next year :)

So sorry to hear @weshallcwhatibecome. Wishing you the best of luck moving forward!

@meowth so sorry to hear. Wishing you the best of luck on your application next year!

I've been reading this forum for awhile, but this is my first post. I just received my rejection letter. I really don't know what to do, my stomach just sank. It just sucks knowing that I was in the top 50% for all categories, so knowing that I was close just hurts even more. UBC was the only school I applied to because I'm currently still doing my undergrad. If they didn't tell me I'm on the reserve list, does this mean there's no hope?

Thanks. I know I will go somewhere. Already have york/georgian and st.lawrence/laurentian in hand. Just need to decide. First time board pass rate for st.lawrence and ultimate pass rate is much higher. Still holding out for few more though. Deferred decision and waitlist at another with few more pending acceptances or rejection.

Though what is concerning is my casper score. I know McMaster collab programs were extremely far reach but seems more unlikely now seeing the relative score from UBC though UBC probably has more mature students compared to Mc.

Hey everyone, I'm very sorry to hear the rejection letters. As for me, I got on the reserve list. I wish everyone who got rejected the best of luck for future applications.

Congrats on getting on the reserve list! Did they tell you your place on the list?
