I just received my acceptance letter too! 3.6 and previous degree!

That's reassuring and really hope it's true! I did however read in another year's thread though that an advisor said that a degree only gives them a small advantage and is not necessarily an automatic acceptance. I'm too scared to know the truth, so I'm just working as hard as I possibly can on the prereqs.

That frightens me a bit. My casper was top 25% too. I was hoping to boost my supplemental for next year, but I'm not sure what GPA I would need to get me out of the bottom 25%! I wonder if all who are accepted ranked in the top 25% for all 3 categories? But then I did recall reading about some successful applicants with GPA's similar to mine, so here's to hoping I still have a chance next year.

Thanks! I already have a few things in mind to help strengthen my application for next year. I'll think of this year's application as a practice run :)

Just received my rejection letter. I was in the bottom 25% for GPA, middle for supplemental, and top 25% for CASPer. At least I have some closure, and know what to work on for next year! Best of luck to the rest of you. Hope to see you next year :)

Agreed with bcastle. I tried preparing by reviewing some MMI style questions, but to me it wasn't much help at all. I answered what came to my mind first, that's all you have time for (maybe a few seconds of brainstorming tops) and I think that's the purpose of the test. I barely had time to hit backspace, lol! I'm very curious to know how they grade our answers (and how they review our applications too). Wish I could be that fly on the wall. I also had a dream last night that I saw myself dressed in the navy blue UBC scrubs, heading to my first day of clinical. Woke up wanting this more than ever I'm not sure how I'll be able to carry myself throughout this month.

Thanks for starting this thread! I'm a first time applicant. I have been going back and forth about a career in nursing since my last year of undergrad (I'm nearly 4 years out of school now!). I've been working at a clinic for the last couple of years which solidified my desire to be a nurse. To be honest though, I'm not very optimistic I'll make it in this round as my GPA is a bit low. I definitely had a rough undergrad, and wanted to take some time off school before really deciding which path to pursue. I always see applicants with tons of experience - mine is nowhere near as impressive or extensive, but for me, I will just try my best to write from my heart why I feel nursing is right for me and see what happens from there. But here's to hoping for the best!
