U of AZ Interview for ASBSN!

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi!

I'm so excited. I just found out that I got selected to interview for U of A's ASBSN program! :w00t:

In the email it said to bring my top three choices for healthcare sponsors. I'm not familiar with Tucson, so I'm wondering, what would be good choices?

TIA

I found the 2007 fact sheet that was given out at the Nov meetings.

187 applicants

79 admitted & enrolled.

Avg GPA of Pre-reqs - 3.54

Avg Cumulative GPA - 3.29

No mention of student loss; but, I wouldn't expect it.

The reading I've done on the net suggests that a much higher percentage of 2nd degree students finish nursing school.

I didn't ask the pro-rated question; but, I vaguely remember hearing one of the presenters say it was pro-rated. (But that isn't a quote so you can't quote me!!!).

tick, tick, tick... :)

I know two people who graduated from the U of A's accelerated BSN program. Both speak highly of the program. I also know from reading the CON newsletters that the retention rate is phenomenal. Typically, they only lose 1-3 students per accelerated cohort.

Good luck, guys!!!

Hi all,

How do you include attachments on PM messages?

thanks ---

drdreamer,

Looks like attachments are only allowed if you support the site attachments are referenced in the additional benefit section.

Thanks for sharing the information!!!! It all sounds good....

Hello! Well, I just got the contract emailed to me yesterday for UMC, Carondolet, and TMC (the same contract). Apparently Northwest is still working on theirs. It all sounds pretty basic and just reiterates what we all already know...the only new thing is that we must pass the national licensing exam after no more than 3 attempts.

Also, drdreamer, it says that you can take a leave of absence as long as you work for the hospital for a total of 24 months, but you have to complete it by 36 months after orientation (so I guess you can take a total of 12 months off).

Hope this helps. I'm still interested if others also received the contract. Good Luck!

Did you anyone get an email today with an admission letter attached? I'm shocked by the timing; I wasn't expecting to hear for another few weeks. I'm so happy and relieved but feel like I won't truly believe it until it arrives in the mail. Would love to hear if anyone else received this!

Oh happy happy happy day! I got in to the ASBSN program!!!!!!!

I found out via email, and it said that the official letter will be sent out next week, (along with the paperwork, I assume, too).

Time to celebrate!

Question - for those of us who get in, do you want to get in touch? I'd love to be able to find a roomate (or roomates) who is (are) also in the program.

Got my email too!

YES!!!!

(I got my 1st choice as well).

I hope to find a room in a house in Tucson too.
