Hi!
I'm so excited. I just found out that I got selected to interview for U of A's ASBSN program! :w00t:
In the email it said to bring my top three choices for healthcare sponsors. I'm not familiar with Tucson, so I'm wondering, what would be good choices?
TIA
MultiColli - you crack me up. I'd bet on Friday, too.
I have been checking my mailbox, like a kid waiting for the tooth fairy, every day as well.
And no, the email totally took me by surprise. I had to read the letter about six times before the "shocked" look left my face.
P.S. - as a reward for myself, I scheduled a massage for Friday morning. I am hoping that by the time the massage is done (~12pm) the mail will be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope!
Kirs,
I am with you...I had to keep re-reading the email to really get what it was saying and that I was in fact, admitted. Then I sent it to my mom to have her verify it! I just started shaking and was speechless...totally in shock. I still feel like I need to see the packet of info to have it truly sink in - ha ha. So I am also stalking my mailbox....
Glad to hear i'm not the only one waiting for the packet in the mail. I started getting paranoid that maybe they wrongly sent me the email and I didn't really getting in. Now, that would be a cruel joke. Agree on the anti-climatic week although I got an acceptance letter from another school so that gave me a little boost and I also received my fingerprinting clearance card. I was suprised by how quickly it came.

That actually happened to me last fall.... I got an admission letter to a nursing program from a school to a program that I hadn't actually applied to. I called the school, and they said that the admission office accidentally sent out that letter to a lot of (they didn't give me a number) students who were still in pre-nursing standing! Can you even believe it?!
Ok, so yeah, I have been stalking my mailbox daily, as well, and I haven't received anything from the U of A either.
Sidenote - I'm starting to think about supplies and am wondering what kind of stethoscope we need. There are so many to choose from.
Oh.... and rumor, at my work, got out about me leaving before I even had a chance to tell my boss myself. Hehehehehee. Oh this is going to be fun, I can already tell. How do you tell your boss you are leaving in 2.5 months when you know that he already knows, and he knows that you know? It's like one big fat fake secret.

Wow, that school sounded pretty disorganized. Here there all these students vying for limited spots in a program and they are sending acceptance letters to people who didn't evey apply. Crazy.
I am assuming U of A has a lot of paperwork to orgainze for us and they said they were sending out this week so for all we know, it could have gone out on Friday. I will probably email them mid-week next week to check in if we still haven't gotten anything. My mom doesn't want me looking for apmts in Tucson until I defiitely know i'm in with the paperwork received. I'm hoping the packet we recieve will also have more detailed info on the supplies needed. I agree the choice of stethoscopes looks overwhelming.
As for your work situation, eesh. Do you think you should just flat out have the conversation with your boss since he knows anyways? If you are continuing to do a good job at work, would there really be reason to let you go early? It's a tricky one. I hate being dishonest and it's been so hard living this sort of double life at work as I snuck off to prereq classes at night, etc. Now almost all my coworkers know the news but my two bosses are totally in the dark. The other day my boss took me to lunch and was having this career conversation with me like, where did I see myself going at the company? what did I want to be working on? what was going on in personal life? and I was just dying inside as one lie after another spewed out of my mouth. I am leaving my job at end of April (I cannot wait, counting down the days) as i need to move to Tucson before I go a big trip out of country in mid-May. I think I'm going to give my boss a month's notice just so I can get it out soon and stop having to lie. My client (I work in PR) even knows I'm leaving as she wrote me a recommendation for one school!

It may be "dishonest," but I would definitely recommend not saying anything until you give your 2week notice (if you even do them that courtesy). I quit my job a while ago to move back to Tucson, and they told me the next day that they wanted me to leave by the next day. I was in sales, so I guess they figured I wasn't going to anything, but still, I gave them the courtesy of notice and they thanked me by essentially firing me...just my 2 cents, hopefully your employer is a little mor professional.
Also, I was just wondering what type of email everyone got. I still haven't received an email from UofA, but I got one from Northwest Medical Center saying "Welcome." So, needless to say, I am still anxiously awaiting an official letter from UofA.
Check your mailboxes, I got my letter today! :) Eeeeeeeeeeh! It's official! :)
I think I am going to head down to Tucson and go apartment hunting next week on my day off.
I am going to tell my boss in a few weeks when the buzz dies down. I think he will be happy for me, because he knew when I got hired that I may or may not get into nursing school this year. He's totally cool, and I think he would probably appreciate 2-4 weeks notice to replace me.

Ok, happenstance was cruel to me, today. I went to my mailbox. The mail carrier was still stuffing the mailboxes. I looked in mine. I saw a THICK envelope from The University of Arizona. I let out a shriek. I dropped my purse and books on the ground. The mail-lady turned, and was staring at me.
It was a thick envelope from the U of A's financial aid office regarding one of my student loans.
I've got it bad. The suspense is getting to me. I'm betting that my group will get our letters next Friday. Right before spring break. That way those who don't get in can process their nervous breakdowns over spring break. Next Friday. I'd bet money.
