U of AZ Interview for ASBSN!

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi!

I'm so excited. I just found out that I got selected to interview for U of A's ASBSN program! :w00t:

In the email it said to bring my top three choices for healthcare sponsors. I'm not familiar with Tucson, so I'm wondering, what would be good choices?

TIA

Nevermind I figured it out - my immunization info was not on file at Student Health so its all good now!

Hi,

I am coming to Tucson for an interview for the summer ABSN 2009 program. I am going to look at apartments in the foothills. What have you found out now a year later about housing if I may ask? Was/is it too far away with traffic.

Thanks

Well, same as I said here before. I hate traffic of any kind, so I would hate to live so far away. Foothills is around 20-30 minutes away I think. There are PLENTY of places available around campus - I live close enough for a ten minute bike ride and I see about 4 or 5 houses for rent. It also depends on which hospital you plan on working for. You do spend a decent amount of time at the hospital, so you might want to live close to your hospital.

thanks so much. Hopefully it isn't too noisy near the university!!!

Hi, I'm a current student in the 2008 program and I live in the foothills and love it. I live at The Legends at La Paloma - very nice, safe (gated), quiet community right at the entrance to La Paloma resort and less than 5 minutes from La Encantada (upscale shopping/dining outdoor mall). It takes me 20 minutes to/from school - it's a straight shot down/up Campbell. I don't know where you're moving from but I came from L.A. and I find traffic very light in Tucson!

wow thanks so much!! I am in northern california and have been accepted to a school in Los Angeles.. I went down there and I figured I could handle the traffic but for many reasons I really wanted to hear from Arizona.. I am glad to hear that you can still get to school ok. It looked like you could take Campbell but when you aren't from the area..you have no idea about traffic. Thanks for taking the time to write to me.. I am sure that you are busy.. I hope I get in and can survive.. I will jot down your place to add to my list... thanks again!!!

Hi,

Was that 150 invited to interview or 150 total that applied?

Thanks

Given that there are 90-odd slots available, I would assume that there are 150+ candidates interviewing from a potential initial 250+ applications....but these are just rough estimations....I would say that the odds of getting accepted are higher this year due to the addition of Northwestern as a partner, although the economic situation also suggests an increase in apps from those whose jobs are not secure.
