Hi!
I'm so excited. I just found out that I got selected to interview for U of A's ASBSN program! :w00t:
In the email it said to bring my top three choices for healthcare sponsors. I'm not familiar with Tucson, so I'm wondering, what would be good choices?
TIA
Since I have lived in Tucson for a while, and people seem to want info on the area (traffic/neighborhoods, etc.) I thought I'd share some info with you.
I'm currently living up north at the Orange Grove/Oracle area. It's about a 20 minute drive to the U - which isn't TOO bad. The traffic is actually pretty light during the summer months because a lot of retired people only spend the winter here, and most of the students are back home. At the time of the interview, the traffic was about as bad as it gets. The biggest pain you will find, though, is parking on campus. A parking pass is upwards of $400 per semester (if I remember right - I never had one). But it's almost impossible to find a decent spot. I'm trying to find a place within biking distance. There are lots of good places, but I have a dog, so it's a little more difficult (I need a yard preferrably, especially if I'm gonna be gone for so long during the day). The best option, from my experience, is to go to UofA website and look at the CatTran "park and ride" lots and find a place in one of those areas. It's free and the bus runs about every 15 minutes and stops right in front of the nursing building. If you have any questions about neighborhoods or anyhting else, dont hesitate to ask.
Edit: Oh, and one more thing. Some apartment complexes have complimentary buses that run to the U. Starr Pass and Northpointe are the only ones I can immediately think of. BUT, these are college student communities with lots of late night parties - esp on the weekend - and only multiple room apartments. FYI.
Thanks,

Also, registration for new parking permits for 2008/2009 begins on April 15th, 2008. I'd try to get my spot that day, April 15th.

Thanks for both of these post/hints!

Anybody get more information after sending back the acceptance form with the list of what we need to get done before we get started in June?
I'm looking for things like:
Shoe requirement.
Slack requirement.
Stethoscope recommendation (if they have one).
Text and reference book list!!! (and whether or not we can use a Palm/pocketpc for reference texts).
Which type CPR cert we need.
Shot record (I don't have one. I wonder if I'm going to have to go get some duplicate shots to build one. I have titer results for mumps/chicken pox and Hep B.)
