the time has come for me to create my very own cpne thread because if i don't i will be creating hundreds of threads and there is just no need for that. not only that i don't think lunah , sue or any other ec student or grad want a new stalker:msk:. so i am going to be posting my questions here and encourage others to chime in and ask questions as well ...that way we can all get through this nasty thing.
first off, i know y'all looked at the carjack ad threw up just wondering where to start. i actually took mine apart and i am working with the critical elements first. i will be ordering the flash cards and getting rob's cd but next week.
did anyone find that these careplans are so much different than what they where taught in school. i remember when i went to my workshop and lynn was going over these careplans ..i was like what??? is texas nursing really that different? :sfxpld:
as i move through this thing i would appreciate any help i can get...feel free to post..... i feel like a walking ticking time bomb and i dont even have a date yet.....
so i will be posting questions on here pretty regualrly now...since i am trying to get myself together..... lord have mercy on my self.....
yes you are correct... i work full time do have six children from 18 months to 18 years . i will finish my bachelors in gov ( criminal law) and sociology in december ... thank the good lord and am trying to chip away at this cpne thing. i would have been done with all of this but i needed my fa i received from my bachelors program to fund my nursing classes just to make it this far... i find myself with my head on the desk not wanting to learn one more piece of education...
anyway, i am working on the ce right now and was just about to start looking at the lab stuff. i found the epn last night and that will be a great help. i will be attending my second workshop in october hopefully if it don't fill up...so people thinking about coming to dallas oct 30 an 31 for lynn's please leave me a spot....eeeekkkkk
i will have this stuff memorized shortly as soon i receive the flash cards that miss sue gn has so graciously offered me. i think that was the big key ...for some reason i am a flash card girl.
i will also purchase rob's video .... i might also just climb in a hole cause i just realized that yes i did apply for a cancelation date.......................................eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
shooooooooottttttttt mmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
if i remember correctly from your posts, txspadequeen, you have 6 (?)kids, a fulltime job, going to school for your bs and doing excelsior!with that kind of dedication and time management you will have no problem with the cpne.
yes, the huge cpne book i received made me nauseated! it's been a few years now but i remember there really was only one section (it was big, though) to study from.
i made a study plan for the weeks until my test followed it-(it was a 24/7 marathon study!) i broke my studying down into blocks and as everything began to come together i felt a little better each time. i downloaded mneumonics from a site that pertained to each critical element-it was then easier for me to conect to each ce.
did not know about lynn's or the other workshops, i did the ec one. seems like all the others are much better than ec.
good luck.
You make my head spin just reading your post! Where do you find time for all this?
Seems like you would be a candidate for a Nurse Attorney with your background of a BS degree in criminal law.
Just curious-can you not do the Accelerated Second Degree BSN? The one where you have an undergrad degree and then take one year of nusring?
well the plan is if i don't pass the cpne i will do the Accelerated BSN but i should be a rn shortly after i graduate from my bs program. bottom line i will be a rn someway somehow. i also need to do everything by distance learning as much as possible cause of the kids schedule. i had to attend commnity college this summer for one last math class and it about did me in going everyday to class. right now i am gathering my masters options and was going to start applying within the next month ....law school is on my list. however, my first love is geriatrics so i want my masters in gerontology.....
