Hi!
I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!
My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.
How about y'all?
@MandM1305 So technically composite scores do not matter, because each individual score is weighed differently?
Yes it matters. The spreadsheet has a blank for each section along with your composite score. If you change one or more of the blanks your points can adjust accordingly. What the exact formula is I'm not sure.
@opokong I am not even accepted into twu yet bc all of my transcripts haven't come in just yet. Hopefully there are still spots when I try registering. I would love to take it online, do you mind pm'ing me your professor? Thanks in advance!!
I'm not allowed to pm yet since I'm so new to the site but I'm applying to the Houston campus and if you're not in the nursing program yet I believe you only have the option of taking it online and there's only one instructor
Anybody know how long it takes to get general admittance to TWU? My transcripts won't be getting in until after July 5th because I am taking a summer course.
I applied on 5/25 and it took until 5/31 for all of my transcripts to get in and get my acceptance. I'm thinking they do need all of your transcripts to give admittance, although I'm not sure all courses would need to be complete on the transcript.
I too am a TWU nursing student hopeful! I have not taken my TEAS yet but I am scheduled in August. Does anyone know if TEAS results are readily available?
My current Nursing Core prerequisite GPA is 3.58, a C in chem and B in stats , all other science courses I earned A's.
I am still working on completing 3 state core classes, Eng II, Philosophy, and a History class. State core classes must be completed prior to starting nursing program. Can anyone offer any insight on whether the courses in progress have any bearing on admission. Will I be automatically over look because of the three courses I have in progress.
Thanks!
I have reviewed the excel sheet, and I noticed for the science courses there is an line designated for both lecture and lab, when calculating points for a science class would one calculate for both lecture and lab? If I earned an A in A& P 1, will I have a total of 4 points or 8 points( lecture & lab). Hope my question makes sense

It depends on the testing center. I had to wait about 24 hours for mine.
It's the same number of points. It's calculated as 3 credit hours for Lecture and 1 credit hour for lab.
As long as you have 46 of the required credit hours completed and no science courses in progress, you should be just fine! Since those classes do not fall among the nursing core courses, your application will not be overlooked, provided they are completed BEFORE THE START OF THE PROGRAM. Hope this helps!

The composite score does matter but so do the individual scores because you have to have at least 64% on all sections
