Hi!
I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!
My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.
How about y'all?
Hey y'all
I'm applying to Houston
3.56 Nursing Core
3.71 Pre Req
88.7% TEAS
No preference. I have 47.17 points according to my advisor.
I'm taking Patho in Denton in the fall
If I don't get in, I'll have to retake A&P I (long story) for a better grade. And then maybe I can squeeze another class in just to get preference.
Hi everyone! I'm new to the thread! I'm super excited and nervous for applying to the nursing program.
My stats:
Nursing core GPA: 3.88
Teas exam: 84
Twu preference: Yes
Prior bachelors: No
My calculated score on the excel spreadsheet: 62.5
Applying to the Dallas campus
This is my second time around applying to the TWU Dallas campus program. The first time I applied I didn't have the twu preference 😞 (Short of 2 hour credit), I was devastated but I lifted myself up and trying again. When I applied the first time my excel points were a 44.5 (exact same stats other than the TWU preference). I hope I get in this time around and I wish the best luck to everyone applying! 🙂
We work so hard you guys! We can do it
P.s. When I didn't have the preference I spoke to one of the three advisors who accepts and decline applicants (I don't think I'm allowed to put there name on here) and they recommended me to get a 92 or higher in each category. For me to be at a competitiveness level with the Nursing GPA: 3.88
Hope that helps anyone who was curious what teas score to reach if you have around my GPA without the preference.
I wish everyone good luck â¤ï¸

How many credits must be completed @TWU in order to qualify for the TWU preference? It looks like the TWU bump added an additional 18 points to your overall points.

32 hour credits to recieve the preference and they must be completed before the application deadline. That's what I was told by the advisor.
For anyone who is taking pathophysiology this fall, in applytexas.org did you apply for the fall or spring semester?
I applied to TWU for the Spring 2018 semester. I called my advisor to see if I could take Patho this fall and he had me fill out the drop/add form with the info and I sent that back to him. I haven't been admitted to the class yet, though, so I'm not sure if my application for Spring 2018 will interfere at all with wanting to take that course this fall. I'll keep you updated once I hear back from my advisor.
Hello, again, future nurses! :)
If you are applying to the nursing program for Spring 2018 and you want to take Pathophysiology in Fall 2017, you need to make sure that your term of entry is Fall 2017. If you completed the ApplyTexas application and chose Spring 2018 as your starting term, you need to contact TWU's Office of Registrar (940-898-3036) and request that your term be changed to Fall 2017 so you can take Patho in the fall.

We're allowed to take it because its a biology course. I had a phone interview with an advisor, I asked her about the class and she gave me the dept code
