Hi!
I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!
My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.
How about y'all?
So I just spoke to a nursing advisor and she said that I have 46 points. For Dallas, the average applicant points for the most recent semesters (spring and fall 2017) was 48 points. For Houston, it was 38 and 40 points.I can either retake the TEAS and try to get my English score up... or just apply to Houston. Torn. My family lives in Dallas and I planned on living at home.
Give the TEAS another try; you know what you need to improve on. If you don't hit the 48 points again, then I might consider Houston. I scored a 75% on the English section too, lol
No, but I'm an entering J1 in Houston, and I can answer a lot of questions!
Do you have any details about the estimated cost of attendence? I went to an info session but they did not give us any printed materials about cost. There is generic info on the TWU website but nothing I see that is concrete
Hi y'all, I'm applying to the Dallas program with a 3.72 nursing GPA and a current score of 87.3 on the TEAS with no bumps, but I am going to retake the TEAS. I applied last semester and didn't get in with those scores unfortunately. I hadn't found this page until after I found out I did't get in so I had no idea what the average scores were or what other applicants had. But so glad I found this! If I retake the TEAS and get at least the score I'm hoping for I'll have at least 51 points. I've read that the lowest they take in Dallas is a 48 so fingers crossed!

Thanks for sharing! I too am trying to retake the TEAS but if I score at least an 87 then I would have 48 points- which is the bare minimum that was accepted last semester. I'm scared to do "just enough"... so I might just take my chances and apply somewhere where I would get in forsure :)
Good luck though! You're almost there!

Are you my academic twin? I have a 3.72 Nursing Core GPA and 88.7 on the TEAS.
I'm applying to Houston so I think my numbers are good enough. However, I am still going to retake the TEAS as I would feel more confident with a score >90%
Hi, Ive been watching and decided to make a profile. I believe you guys are calculating points wrong. I won't be applying until fall 2018 due to needing 2 prereqs. But I do currently have a friend enrolled in the program and I have been playing with the spread sheet for quite sometime since I will also be a transfer student.. TEAS individual scores must be imputed as well as overall scores.
4.0 no bumps 85% TEAS- 48 points
4.0 no bumps 86% TEAS- 49 points
4.0 no bumps 87%- 50.67 points

I would just take the TEAS again. If you scored a 75% on the English and still came out with an 84% Overall you must have scored really well in the other three subjects. You know what subject you need to focus on and you already know what to expect.
