Hi!
I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!
My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.
How about y'all?
Hi, Ive been watching and decided to make a profile. I believe you guys are calculating points wrong. I won't be applying until fall 2018 due to needing 2 prereqs. But I do currently have a friend enrolled in the program and I have been playing with the spread sheet for quite sometime since I will also be a transfer student.. TEAS individual scores must be imputed as well as overall scores.4.0 no bumps 85% TEAS- 48 points
4.0 no bumps 86% TEAS- 49 points
4.0 no bumps 87%- 50.67 points
I'm curious why you think we are calculating points wrong? The spreadsheet seems easy enough... fill in the blanks and see the point total.
Hey y'all, I wil be applying to the TWU Houston program as well this spring. My nursing core GPA is currently around 3.2 and I am retaking the intro to nutrition class this summer, to see if I can turn my B to an A or at least get the TWU preference point since that class was transferred in. I am also retaking my TEAS exam which i took last summer and made a 76 on. I hope to get a much better score, say 85 and above so it can balance out my lower end GPA to be able to get into the program with about 44-46 points. Let me just say that I have been waiting for my application season to come for a while now. I have followed almost all TWU nursing hopeful threads since about 2015/2016 and have noticed the trends during application cycles and visited my academic advisor here and there and now the time has finally come for me to fully participate in this thread and be one of those hopefuls. That being said, I am applying soon and taking the TEAS on 8/3. Goodluck to everyone :)
I am also taking PATHO this fall at the Dallas campus. I would have preferred to take it online but online classes aren't my strong suite! Anyone else in the same boat?
Brandon_Hare Sorry, my post was in response to a previous comment of a 4.0 & 87 teas = 48 points.
Even people with the same GPA and TEAS composite scores will end up with different point amounts because the individual section scores matter. I even had an advisor confirm that my points would be 48.70 with a 4.0 and 87 TEAS. I wish I was wrong and had 50 lol
Does anyone happen to know what happens if multiple students apply with the same amount of points?Let's just say, to fill the last spot. How would they break the tie? At this point do they begin looking at overall GPA's?
I want to say that they will probably look at who has what preference or higher GPA/score. I know preference points are usually ranked hihgly
