Hi!
I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!
My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.
How about y'all?
Does anyone know how many times you can take the TEAS? Do they take the most recent score like most other schools? I've taken it twice already, but never under the TWU code. I know with the HESI some schools limit you to two attempts, some it can't be over a year old, etc... I have an overall 84% for my last attempt and know it would drastically increase my odds if I could bring that score up. Of course my biggest fear would be scoring lower.
Hey @Brandon_Hare, I'm not sure about the number of times you can take it, but I do know that they take the most recent scores. This is quoted from the TWU-specific portion of the NursingCAS: "I have taken the TEAS and scored at least 64% (no rounding up) on each of the 4 subject sections, AND an official score report has been sent to TWU. (Most recent attempt considered, only.)"

You can take it as many times as you wish. Yes, they take the most recent score so if you're satisfied with your score then just log in to ati and send the scores to twu. I'm in the same boat, I've taken it 3 times but none of those times did I use the school code.

Thanks for the reply. I'm hesitant to take it again since I've been out of classes for a year now trying to get into a nursing program and am worried I may have forgot some things. I do have plenty of time between now and the application deadline to do a lot of studying then test. I need to plug some different scores into their spreadsheet to see how it will affect my overall points.
Points? And the Dallas campus
Fill the following excel sheet with your numbers and you'll be given amount of points that they use to determine your acceptance into the college.
I went ahead and filled your numbers in with a 3.36 Nursing Core GPA with 90 TEAS score and your total points awarded is 49 including your Bachelor's Bump. In comparison I have a 3.72 Nursing Core GPA with 90 TEAS and I also end up with 49 points.
I have seen students applying for the FALL 2017 semester get accepted to the Houston Campus with points in the low 40's. Keep in mind that the Dallas Campus is significantly more competitive.

Thanks so much for your feedback. Great point, I didn't even realize that I was already past that window since classes already started last week for the 1st 5 weeks. I'll definitely hyper-focus on the TEAS. As wishful thinking and motivation, I plugged in 90s across the board on the spreadsheet, and my points ended up totaling 59.47. I'll just hold onto that happy thought until I take the exam!
My only hope at this point is that more focus will be placed on our total points rather than our GPAs (or any other score) individually... that's what I've gotten so far from reading past TWU threads. Crossing fingers!
