Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
Anyone taking Patho online this fall? Anyone already taken Patho have an opinion on whether taking it online would be ok? Or should I schlep to class on Monday mornings and just put up with fighting traffic?
Try to take Patho, if you can, before you even get accepted into the program. I took it this summer, and I'm SO glad I did...I'm in the program starting in the Fall, and I don't know how on earth I would get by if I didn't have that class out of the way. For me, the class was really hard, and (by the grace of God) I eeked out a B.
You can't take it online unless you're an accelerated program student.
I will be attending TVCC this fall.. I'm concern about the HESI A2 test. I'm not going to take it until May 2010. But if anyone know a good study guide for the HESI A2 please let me know. I will be taking pre req's as well, going for LVN and then RN... Time is of essence with me... Good luck to all
I'm glad you turned in your app.All of your nursing prerequisites do not need to be completed before you fill out your application, just before the deadline in a week and a half.I filled out my application right when the nursing app became available, but I'm in the same situation as you with my transcript.I need to turn in my updated transcript with my Lifespan credit now.My teacher posted the grades already, but my school's cpu has been down since yesterday, and are unable to print the trancripts.I'm hoping by tomorrow it will be up again.I'm getting worried, I need to send TWU those grades already!
I think the evole reach Hesi admission assessment study guide, the people who actually run the real Hesi exam is pretty good,That's what I used, and i did fairly well.It has goood math tips you should review and it covers all of the subjects that will be on the exam, but there is no Physics on the real Hesi,so you can ignore the Psychics section.Whhich ever section is your weak point, like maybe chem or a&p may be your weak point, review your notes from your college classes as well.

I used the study guide that was written by the Elsevier Hesi people. You can find it under the Hesi information on the TWU nursing department page online. It takes a couple of links but you'll get there. Also the Math and Reading sections to me were very different. The reading portion of the NET was way harder than that on the Hesi, but of course the Hesi has all the sciences whereas the NETdid not. So get the study guide, literally some of the questions in the study guide were on my test.
