TWU Spring 2010

Published

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.

Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?

I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.

If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

Tell me about it! I can't even imagine how much I have spent on transcripts over this entire application period on every school. It's ridiculous.

ali523 All of the sections are included on the Hesi exam for TWU here the link:

thank you mau00! no physics, right?

Specializes in PCU, Med-Surg/Tele, Psychiatric.

There is not a physics section on it.

one more question, does the math section of the HESI A2 have word problems? or is it just number problems like the NET exam?

if my memory serves me correct, there are some word problems on the HESI

I have a question for those of you who are second degrees. When you log into your portal account, does it show all your grades even from your first undergrad degree or does it just show your post-bac grades? Mine only shows my post-bac grades. It does make me a little nervous, however, that I can't see all of my nurisng pre-reqs (the ones I took for my first degree).

I was worried about this too, and I called about it. Only your PB grades will appear, not your grades from your first degree. I actually went up there this morning and met with an advisor to make sure they had everything correct, and were calculating my gpa correctly. All my ducks are in a row...now I am just hoping I did enough to make it in!

I don't think any grades show for 2nd degree students who have completed their degree elsewhere (aka. not TWU). Is that right?

It surprises me that you were told they would be too busy to meet with you. Did you try Dallas or Denton? I went to Denton and didnt have any trouble getting in to see someone. I would definitely try Denton if you haven't already.

Rha Hea, yes I'm a second degree student. I have not only a B.A. in Economics/Finance, but also a M.B.A. focussed in Marketing and International Management. But I'm done with corporate, so here I am hopefully at nursing school. Oh, and I met with Allyson, she was great and quick.

ali523, the only thing not included on the Hesi for TWU is the Physics section. But if you are taking it for another school also then you might have the physics section on it.

Yah, I was trying for the Dallas campus. I think Im OK though, I am sure all will be fine; I hope!
