TWU Spring 2010

Published

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.

Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?

I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.

If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

Is the critical thinking section calculated into composite score?

i was reading about the hesi on a different discussion board and some people said they weren't allowed to use scratch paper during the test, yet others said they were. i am taking my hesi at a&m, does anyone know if you can use scratch paper?

I took mine in Dallas, and they gave us a dry erase board and a marker. No calculators were allowed. Hope that helps!

Yep, took mine in Dallas too and was given the dry erase board and markers. Lots of long hand division fun.

Does anyone know how critical thinking section is calculated into composite score...of if it even is? I'm in desperate need toknow this! Please reply

You'll be taking yours at the general services complex right? i took mine there also....you'll receive two dry erase boards, a couple dry erase markers, and an eraser. You won't have pencil or paper...you're not allowed to bring anything inside the testing center besides your ID. Hopefully that helped you!

the critical thinking section isn't required by TWU so it's not factored into the composite score. The sections that are required by twu are: math, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, chemistry, biology, anatomy and physiology, personality profile, and learning style

The critical thinking section is required by TWU. I called numerous time to confirm this. They said it is calculated into composite score. I wanted to know if it is averaged into composite score and how...????

Oh okay, well i took all of the sections...i'm not sure how they'd calculate it into the composite score though. Have you tried emailing the nursing advisor?

Yes, I'm a current student there. if you do bring something (like a snack or a bag) they'll give you a locker/lock/key, to put your things in. good luck! :wink2:

sorry to triple post...i'm not trying to spam, but does anyone know of anyway to check if twu has received all information necessary from you or if something is lacking? for ut houston you can check on utlink, but i haven't found anything like that on portal...does anyone know? do i just have to call in?
