Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.
Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?
I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.
If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?
Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!
thanks! I urge anyone who took the HESI A2 and did not have the critical thinking portion on their test to contact his/her respective advisor at the Denton campus to make sure your test is eligible for consideration. My advisor told me today that the Dean has thrown out applications already for the Spring 2010 for those who do not have the critical thinking. This is a serious issue. I think Kimmy mentioned she did not have a critical thinking portion.
I had a critical thinking section on my test. It said texas womens' university at the top of my screen. I wasn't sure if I needed all of the sections, but i just took them all anyway...good thing i did!
is there anyway to confirm that our HESI scores were sent to TWU? or if they have been received? i think i read somewhere that people were getting emails?
What? I haven't heard this. hmm... i'm pretty sure they not my scores but i'm not quite sure why i'm sure (that sounds confusing). i don't know if they sent me a letter/email or i checked somewhere.... hmm does anyone know?
Oh okay, well I meant like what if your composite was a 73 but thats all right they probably won't even look at it if the composite is that low. I just totally bombed the vocab -_- and I hate how you can only take it once per application period, now I have to wait so dang long. Does anyone know why they make us do that?

mixedsensation-i posted something earlier today from the website that does talk about the composite score, and i've copy and pasted it again below:
Minimum Test Score
A minimum test composite test score of 75 is required for eligibility to the College of Nursing.
Here is the link that talks about the HESI requirements, you can see what I pasted just above if you go to the site and scroll down:

I'm not sure why they only let you take the test once for each application period....I made a 98 on the vocab section and studied the Elsevier study guide. I made sure I knew the vocab from the vocab section and the vocab from the anatomy and physiology section and I feel that really helped me. A lot of the words from the test were included in one of these lists. Just a tip incase you are going to take the test again for the next semester. Good luck!
Thank you both! :) Yeah, I realized that most of the vocab were from the study guides so now I made sure I memorized them!It just sucks when you plan everything out and it doesn't go the way you want it, but that's life I guess.
yes, I hate it when things don't work how you planned. Personally I thought that test was especially hard because it seems like there's very little information out there about it so you don't really know how to prepare. Too bad they don't still accept the NET, there are a million practice tests and websites out there! Like goopsy said, maybe they won't stick to what the website says (like they haven't for the critical thinking section) and your score will be fine! You never know since this is the first year that they've used the HESI. Again, good luck!!
hey kimmy, i thought I would also let you know, i talked to my advisor and she said that TWU has to have all transcipts updated even if the course does not apply to TWU and not a required pre-req. I had seen somewhere that you said you were not going to send in a transcript because it didnt apply to TWU.

l really don't know mixedsensation. No one can say for sure; just call and ask-that is the best thing to do.
i feel so tired right now of dealing with this, but hopefully something can be worked out. :crash_com
