TWU Spring 2009

Published

Hello everyone just wanted to see if there were anymore hopeful spring 2009 applicants out there. I submitted my application already and just sitting back waiting till Nov when acceptance/rejection letters are sent out. I know they said for us to check out emails everyday in October. If anyone has been through the application process before please share your experience. Good luck to everyone :wink2:

Oh, I should have left the original thread -- I was replying to an earlier message about someone taking the NET in October. Yes, I did apply and am hoping to get in for the Spring'09 program. I also took a CompSci course @ Richland, so I'm ok since it's showing on my TWU transfer list. If I don't get in, I guess I'll check out UTA, but then I'll have to retake A&P and 8 more hours there (yuk) and technical writing.

]I haven't heard anything, and I think it will be at least another month until we do. :( Luckily I'm pretty busy so not too much time to dwell on it, but still...I'm getting anxious to just know so I can make plans one way or the other.

Did anyone apply to both locations of TWU, or did most of you just pick the one closest to where you live? I only applied to Houston, and I've seen a few others on here who have, but it looks like a lot of you are in the DFW area. Did any of yall mark on your applications that you'd go to either school? I kinda wonder if that gives you a little boost, showing that you're willing to move.

Hello Pookster84:typing

I only applied TWU-Dallas. I am sure there are some that will go to either, but you are the first person that I have talked to that has applied to Houston. I would suspect that there are more for Dallas than Houston due to the fact that some applicants do not desire to move.

I think we will hear something by the end of October at least I pray.

Take care,

I haven't heard anything from TWU either. I stated I wanted my initial choice to be Dallas but my boyfriend soon to be fiancee lives in Houston so I marked the option of going to Hoston as well. I wouldn't mind going to either location as long as I get in!!!! Three more weeks till Nov and then we can get out of our misery :)

Soon the waiting will be over, for sure:yeah:

Pookster84,

Do you know if the stats to get in at Houston has different stats than the dallas school??

As far as the stats for Dallas and Houston from what I understand

the stats are usually a little lower as far as GPA, but again it depends on the applicants in the pool.

I received the following information from the grapevine; which is not always reliable at all.:specs:

I would bet that the GPA portion is lower in Houston because there are fewer TWU students with their 0.4 extra points to contend with. While I saw people mention earlier a 3.7 has been the approx cutoff, I know someone who is in the Houston program who had somewhere close to a 3.5.

I wonder since I said I would go to either one if I get rejected in Dallas would I have a better chance of getting into Houston?? I hope that is the case since my gpa isn't super high

Hello PrincessWannaBe

You may have a higher chance of being accepted since you are willing to

go to the Houston campus.

I am still patiently awaiting any correspondence. Three more weeks and hopefully everyone will know.:clown:
