Hello everyone just wanted to see if there were anymore hopeful spring 2009 applicants out there. I submitted my application already and just sitting back waiting till Nov when acceptance/rejection letters are sent out. I know they said for us to check out emails everyday in October. If anyone has been through the application process before please share your experience. Good luck to everyone :wink2:
Princess, don't be surprised that you were waitlisted. I think that the reason you were and some others with a higher GPA didn't get in and didnt get waitlisted was because of your NET score. Ms. Jennings told me to retake it if I had lower than a 70. My NET reading was an 81, but my GPA was a 3.432. Thanks for the congrats. You'll get in eventually, if not off the waiting list, during one of the next application periods, especially since you're retaking a class to boost your GPA. See if there are any minimester classes that you could retake this December to give yourself an even bigger boost. It might not be the most fun way to spend your December, but still, it's worth it.
rfs, I'll update you on my UTHSCSA stuff in that thread. I feel bad taking up TWU space with it. I definitely understand why getting in to both would be a difficult decision!
Congrats to pookster and rsf for getting into nursing school. I'm really not understanding how I got waitlisted now. Everyone has a way higher gpa than I did. I'm glad you two got in somewhere. Everyone keeps saying SA is a lot easier to get into. Maybe I'll look into that for the fall.
Princess_WannaBe, I was actually kind of stumped too until I really thought about it. Your NET score is high. I only heard of two others on here that got higher than you: they both got 81's and they were accepted to the Dallas and Houston programs. Apparently, the NET is very important. And you should feel good because your NET was way higher than some others. Who knows how they judge it?!?!?!? Don't think too much about it. Just try your hardest and that's all you or I can do!
Hello Princess WannaBe
I am not eligible for Fast Track, but I will be applying for Fall 2009 and
hopefully things will be back to normal especially since some of our seats at Dallas will not be taken by the Fast Track students. They rotate the Fast Track Program between Dallas and Houston. In the Fall 09 it will be Houston's turn so there will be 120 slots for Dallas for the regular BSN Program.
I was given very positive feedback for the next application period for sure so of course I am giving it another shot for sure.
Our time is nearing please understand that and continue to pray because GOD knows best.
To Goopsy:
I applied to the Dallas campus. Really close to my home. I'm guessing it was the NET that might have had a lot to do with it because as I said before, I received a 69. It was very low to me. But I'll retake it as soon as I can. My GPA should go up to at least a 3.9 with the three classes I'm taking right now. So fall is my next chance!
Anyhow, congrats to everyone who got in and sorry to US who didn't. Lets look up and keep trying!! I'm not ready to give up because I've had to deal with much tougher things in my life than this!
well ironically i just re-calculated my gpa and it was actually a 3.788. i triple checked and that is without even considering the government 1301 class which i am in right now. that is just simply stunning that i got a flat out rejection. well i'm mostly angry that having [color=yellow]3 b's out of all my other a's got me rejected. life sure is painful sometimes lol. :argue:
