Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:

Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?

Has anyone already submitted their application? Do we have any idea when to expect a response? I know some schools do not review any applications until the deadline, is TWU the same?

I submitted mine this week for Houston, for a score of 54.

The deadline application for TWU Dallas is August 15 for Spring 2019. I have not even started studying for the TEAS since I am taking summer classes it seems so difficult, like I have no time. Any suggestions? Since it is about a month away. I heard it is extremely hard to pass TEAS the first time. The suggested TEAS grade is an 89%. Anybody that has already taking it and passed the first time? Or any study habits? Please let me know. Thank you

The grammar was a big aspect for me my lowest score of a 70.9 came from that category. Also I expected to do better on the science than I did. Which I got an 83%. I'm taking A&pII starting Monday which should clear up all the problems I missed. There is also a good amount of nutrition in the science portion so be prepared. Glycolysis gluconeogenisis ect. Study all of that. I bought a book on amazon and if I would've actually studied it like I was supposed to I would've scored way better however a 84% overall on the first attempt isn't bad. I'm retaking it again on the 11th of August for a better score after I complete A&P. If you want to study together I'm all for it!

The concepts of glycolysis and glyconeogenesis are not considered nutrition. Though they are superficially touched in that class, they actually pertain to A&P II and Intro Bio 101 where you learn the citric acid cycle. It's very closely related to body's use of ATP.

I think you will be fine after A&P II without worrying about nutrition. You may want to brush up on Bio and Chem though, the test is highly randomized and I remember mine a couple of years ago was very Intro Bio concepts and some Chem. I even had 2 physics questions!

Can someone tell me how they filled out the TWU spreadsheet. I keep trying but with all my classes entered its a 55 points and when I enter Teas scores it stays the same. Anyone that could help me out?

For the prerequisites:

Eg: Chemistry lab, lab classes usually are 1 credit hour (at least at my college). So you will type "1" for the "hours" section. Then on "Grade", this is on a 4.0 scale (4=A, 3=B, 2=C, 1=D). Type whatever number that corresponds to the grade you received in that class. Follow this guide to fill out the rest of the classes.

For TEAS scores, you just fill in the different subjects with the corresponding grades. And then your overall grade.

That should work.

You have to make sure to put everything in the column correctly, pre-req's taken at TWU vs. not at TWU, also make sure at the top you are making the correct choice about post-bacc or undergrad status, and if you are core complete or not.

Hello, I am looking to apply for spring 2019, the earliest I can write the teas is July 31, please will this be too late or will the scores get delivered on time?

Depends on where you take them, but it's my understanding that they only typically take about 48 hours.

Can you submit teas scores more than once or do they only accept you latest score. If you did better the first time versus the second can you submit the first score. And how do you submit the scores.

You can submit more than one TEAS score; however, they (TWU) use your most recent score NOT the highest score.

You submit scores by logging onto the ATI website, go onto the ATI online store, and look for the item that says "TEAS transcripts", add it to cart and checkout. There will be a list of colleges, look for TWU Denton and click to send. The fee is $27.00
