Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:
Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?
I took mine in April because I wanted to make sure I had enough time for applications. You'll need your TEAS score to see where you stand for applying to the program. I took my TEAS exam at a testing center, so I received my score the moment I finished the exam. However, some people who take it through PSI complained of the long waiting period for their scores. You must submit your TEAS scores before Aug 15th which is the deadline for the application.
Its PSI a way of doing it online? Sorry I haven't done much research about this exams, or where I can take them. I went to ATITesting.com and it gave me different testing center where I can take them... It that how you sign up for a testing center? Sorry for the many questions I appreciate all of you help.

PSI is a company that offers their own specific testing site to take the test. When attempting to register for the TEAS, there are two options you can do.
1) Register for TEAS (this is generally through testing centers near you)
2) Register for TEAS with PSI (this is a company that have their own testing centers)
I would pick option one, just because some friends I have said that PSI takes long to release test scores. Option one worked well for me as well.
Hey guys,
here are my stats :
Pre req GPA: 3.59
Nursing Core GPA: 3.73
Admission score 70.66
I did not take TEAS yet so the score is without it. I plan to take TEAS prob in july. I got accepted into school around feb 2018 and I plan to enroll in spring 2019 nursing trad semester. I emailed the advisor since I had question about taking patho at different school and was told I would have to take it at TWU once I get accepted into their upper division program. The spreadsheet was also sent by her that stated my score and gpa. I took couple classes this spring sem at dcccd and sent my transcript today for it to be updated on my TWU transcript and I'll keep you posted with my new gpa and score after couple grades get posted. Good luck y'all !!
Hello everyone! Hope the application process is going well!
I am interested in the TWU Houston campus and my stats are...
Nursing Core GPA: 3.6
TEAS composite: 87.3%
Previous BS degree
Admission Score: 49.73
I was wondering if you guys would apply with these scores knowing how drastically the minimum admission scores can jump from semester to semester.
Also, what is the minimum admission score everyone would be shooting for to apply to TWU Houston Spring 2019?
Best wishes for everyone during this process!
I had a question regarding the calculation of GPA, please help! So I did very poorly in college, fresh out of high school so much so to the point where I gave up but did not drop the classes so that caused me to have a couple of Fs. But I have since taken all those classes and did mostly As. I was told by UTMB that I will not even be considered because they do a cumulative of your GPA, which comes out to 2.55 (its on NursingCAS as well) If you only calculate the recent courses (my retakes) my GPA would be 3.8. I had called TWU and they said they only take into account the most recent grades for retakes. But TWU uses Nursingcas as well and my application on there says 2.55. So would TWU dismiss my application? Also UTMB told me basically the only thing I can do is go for my ADN then bridge over. I just feel so discouraged, after going back to school and doing so well only for them to tell me its cumulative.
I went to open hous or the info session. They told us they really look at the TEAS score so score as high as possible
Hey everyone!! I am planning to apply for the Spring 2019 semester and thought I'd share my stats.I have a 3.89 GPA in my pre-reqs and an overall 82.7% on the TEAS (1st attempt).
I am planning on retaking the TEAS within the next month with hope of getting over a 92%.
After using the points spreadsheet, I currently have 41 points.
I feel like I need at least a 54 to be competitive, especially if this pool is anything like the Fall 2018!
If I can get a 92% in all areas, I will have 54.4 points.
If I can get a 95% in all areas, I will have 59 points.
It is crazy that with an 3.89 GPA that I feel like I need to take the TEAS again for over a 90%.
It is definitely doable so fingers crossed!
Good luck to everyone!
Hello! I am applying to TWU Houston campus and my stats are:
Nursing Core GPA: 3.72
TEAS composite score: 85.3%
Previous BS degree
Admission Score: 49.70
I'm retaking the TEAS in July because the Houston advisor said 87% across all sections is competitive.
Surprisingly my lowest section was English at 75%.
Anyone have any tips on how to study for this section?
Thanks!
