Starting this for anyone thinking about applying to Texas Women's University's Nursing program for Spring 2019. Even though it seems like a long time from now it's never too early to start preparing to apply:happy:

Is anyone else prepping for the TEAS or has already taken it?

Yes, TWU has summers off. So classes in the Spring and Fall semesters.

Hello! I am applying to TWU Houston campus and my stats are:

Nursing Core GPA: 3.72

TEAS composite score: 85.3%

Previous BS degree

Admission Score: 49.70

I'm retaking the TEAS in July because the Houston advisor said 87% across all sections is competitive.

Surprisingly my lowest section was English at 75%.

Anyone have any tips on how to study for this section?

Thanks!

Was there anything else that was important in regards to TEAS scores or the total points you have?

My lowest score was English as well at a 79.2. My other scores were above 87, which gave me an 88% overall.

I guess I'm afraid that the next time I take the TEAS, I'll score lower and that's the grades they'll use since it's your most recent score.

Yeah I definitely understand the concern. But I think if you're confident in your final admission score you won't need to retake it?

I'm taking A&P 2 right now so I'm hoping my science will go up since I'll have a better understanding of the systems. I think for Reading and English I'll try to look for more practice to do. My math was my highest so I'm hoping I'll get a 100 when I retake it.

Composite: 85.3

Reading: 83

Math: 96.9

Science: 83

English: 75

Yea, I came out with 51.9 points. I don't have any bumps because I came from a community college. I think I'll stay with my TEAS scores. I liked the individual scores, even the English score since the questions I got were somewhat frustrating.

You can transfer it but they want to see the syllabus & course description.

From my knowledge, TWU does not require you to complete Patho or Pharm before applying. You can take them before admittance, although I'm not sure if you have to strictly take it with TWU or if they'll allow you to transfer it from another community college/4 year university.

Does anyone know if the transcripts are also due by August 15th as well? I mean, I am taking AP 2 in Summer II which ends in August 8th and the application due date is August 15th.

I am afraid if I request the transcript after I'm done with the class, it might not get there before August 15th. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, do we have to submit an official transcripts to NursingCAS as well or just manually insert it on the site?

Any help with the answers is greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure everything is due by the August 15th deadline. I would email/call whichever campus you're applying to, and let them know what's going on. If your school sends transcripts electronically then you should be fine, as they send pretty quickly. But call them and make sure.

You need to submit your transcripts to NursingCas as well as manually insert your courses on NursingCas. Make sure that you don't input any classes incorrectly.

Thanks a lot for the info. And I will call them up for sure.

Has anyone already submitted their application? Do we have any idea when to expect a response? I know some schools do not review any applications until the deadline, is TWU the same?

I submitted mine this week for Houston, for a score of 54.

From poking around other application semester threads, I believe it's around 4-8 weeks.

Assuming I make all A's in current summer courses I'll have a nursing gpa of a 3.4 teas composite score of 84% and preference. I'm applying to twu Houston and I currently have a 51.67 in the calculator. Should I retake the teas given I didn't actually study like I should've and know I can do way better on the science portion or would I be okay? How many applicants do they accept at Houston?

Just in case someone is wondering what are the stats for last semester
