Hello!
I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?
After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.
So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!
Hey guys! I've been following your thread for quite sometime and just got a call from someone in the Nursing department regarding my CLEP scores (they couldn't find my scores for the College Mathematics Test, which would have made me ineligible, but after contacting college board, they were able to rectify the situation and find my scores in the database). So I guess they're going through the applications now and contacting people who they believe may have missing documents, classes, etc. which would make them ineligible to apply for this application period. While I had him on the phone, I asked about how much longer he expected it to be before they sent out acceptance e-mails; he said in 3 weeks. He also mentioned there were about 890 applicants this semesters (approximately 100 less than last application period). I also asked about how my application was standing overall and he gave me some stats in reference to my scores/grades: 2 first attempt A's (average), 3.682 GPA (a little below average), and a TEAS Score of 84 (a little above). I'm keeping my fingers crossed :/ . Good luck to all!
wow.... more competive than i thought.
it makes me more nervous.. im keeping my fingers crossed.
good luck to everyone!!
Hi everyone! I'm new to the board, and saw that there are a lot of posts here. Sorry if this question I have has been answered already :) I plan to apply to TWU for the February deadline to start next Fall. I want to take the TEAS sometime in January just giving me plenty of time to study the best I can; also I hear that taking Patho is a good idea before starting school, which I plan to try and do in January after taking the TEAS. I live in the Collin county area so the Dallas campus is closest to me, and I hear things such as the Patho teachers there are not being as good as the ones in Denton.. I guess we'll see. I'd love to look for study groups when I start the class, especially if the teachers are complicated along with the material. To all of the people who have taken the TEAS already, what study material was most useful? Has anyone used the study package from ATI? I struggle the most with what is most useful for a test like this that has a whole bunch of information all at once from different subjects. However, I'm looking into tutoring groups at my campus at Collin college also. I seem to do really good in groups with one other person explaining info to me that I don't understand. Any info would be great! I'm keeping my options open and am willing to get the help where ever I can get it!
Thanks everyone!

I ONLY used the ATI manual for the TEAS-V. I also bought the two online practice tests and did both of them twice, as well as the two practice tests in the back of the manual. I feel like the ATI manual definitely prepared me well, but I had also just finished microbiology and chemistry before taking the test so it that may have helped :)
I got a 79, an 82, 84, and 88 on my practice tests, and on the actual TEAS I got a 92.
OK, y'all. I just received a TWU email asking about my core complete status. I went ahead and replied, but those of you that didn't have core complete on your transcripts might want to check your TWU email, just in case you have some sort of notification.
I am core complete, but my college doesn't put that on the transcript unless you are graduating, which I will be doing this December. I hope this doesn't cause a problem! On one hand, I'm glad to know they are looking at my application, but on the other hand, the last thing you want to hear is that there might be an issue with your application!
Hey everyone! I am curious if anyone knows (from experience) when they start sending acceptance letters. Some posts say that they start in Oct. but on the TWU website it says mid Nov.Just wondering... thanks!!! :)
I called up there earlier today and the secretary said the beginning of November. It's kind of funny: I didn't give them any personal information when I called, so when I received the core requirements email today, I thought I might have jinxed myself! Last year, people received the email on Oct. 31, and in 2010 the spring class received the email around Oct. 20. Hope that helps! :)
