TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!
This is an online forum. Sometimes things can be taken the wrong way, I guess. I thought that the "generic response" comment was funny, nothing more. I'm sure that jlmcjunkins meant nothing disrespectful by her comment, as I meant nothing disrespectful with mine. Yes, we are all stressed out, but there is no need to get bent out of shape.

Generic response is right! LOL! Does anyone know if the Dallas campus has an Open House?

TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!
I called up there earlier today and the secretary said the beginning of November. It's kind of funny: I didn't give them any personal information when I called, so when I received the core requirements email today, I thought I might have jinxed myself! Last year, people received the email on Oct. 31, and in 2010 the spring class received the email around Oct. 20. Hope that helps! :)

TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!
OK, y'all. I just received a TWU email asking about my core complete status. I went ahead and replied, but those of you that didn't have core complete on your transcripts might want to check your TWU email, just in case you have some sort of notification. I am core complete, but my college doesn't put that on the transcript unless you are graduating, which I will be doing this December. I hope this doesn't cause a problem! On one hand, I'm glad to know they are looking at my application, but on the other hand, the last thing you want to hear is that there might be an issue with your application!

How many colleges does TWU have agreements with? I know they have a new agreement with Collin College, so they can transfer directly into the nursing program. Is that for the RN-BSN or the 4-year program? I don't think my college has an agreement with TWU. AAAARRRGGH! I just failed at staying positive.

It sounds like we are in the same boat. I had just finished summer classes, and didn't plan my study time well. I could kick myself now! I heard from one of the advisors at TWU that with my stats, I needed to aim for at least a 70 to be safe. That particular advisor is no longer there, so I don't know how much stock I hold in that. She left right before the Sept. 1st cutoff, so I'm still nervous about my application! I also don't have a previous bachelor's degree or a TWU bump. Let's stay positive!

Does this mean that we would go to class for 4 days? That would be great if that's the case. I have a 2-year old, so any time I get to spend at home, even if it's studying, is appreciated! I am so ready for this wait to be over! I have a 4.0 GPA, and all 4 first attempt A's, but I bombed my TEAS V with a 78 (I can't remember the exact score now, but it was 78.something). I didn't study the way I should have. I figured it was like the HESI, but boy was I wrong, LOL! Good luck, everyone!

TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!
OK, y'all, help me with this. I might be confusing myself! LOL! I was just reading TWU's policy regarding patho (BIOL 4344), and it looks like it basically says that I can take the class before the nursing program begins, but it is not required that I do so. However, if I do choose to take patho, and I bomb it (make a D or lower), it will affect my entry into the upper division nursing program because patho is part of the nursing curriculum. My big fear is that I will be taking patho on the Dallas campus, and I have not heard very good things about the class. Are there different instructors teaching the spring classes? I wonder if the online option for patho is available once we start the nursing program? I would consider the Denton class, but it is full. I'm starting to get nervous!

Just found out from the advisor that the online option is for the RN-BS students. Yuck! Is anyone taking it on the Dallas campus?

Thank you for the support! I found the nursing application last night and applied! YAY! I called today to verify that everything went through ok, and all is well. I spoke with the nursing advisor earlier today, and she recommended that I take pathophysiology in the fall. I would like to take it online, but it doesn't look like you can do that without department authorization. Has anyone been able to sign up for it online, as in taking it as an online class, or do pre-nursing students not have that option?

At least you have one first attempt A, and from what I've been reading, you have an excellent GPA. Since you have taken the science classes twice, you should be extra prepared for the TEAS V! I'm sure you will rock the TEAS V and it will even everything out in the decision making process. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Think positive! Good luck!

your stats sound great! i was told by the counselor that gpa, first attempts, and the teas v score are given equal weight, so your first attempt a's and high teas v score should get you in, and your gpa is competitive, so you shouldn't have any problems! i have first attempt a's in everything and a 4.0 gpa without the bump, but i haven't taken the teas v yet. i have plans to take it in the next few weeks before i start summer ii classes. i'm more of a biology person than a chemistry person, so i'm a little nervous, because i think the teas v will be my weak point. i can only hope to score as well as you did! good luck! i'm sure you will get in!

TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!
I’ve been a lurker on this board for a while, and this is my first post. I have applied to TWU for Spring 2013, and got accepted into the college, but is there a separate nursing school application that I need to fill out? I also applied to Baylor for Spring 2013, and they required a separate application, so maybe that is where I am getting the idea. I spoke with a TWU advisor about a year ago to get me on the right track with my classes, but when I tried to get in touch with her this year to review my class schedule, she directed me to another advisor who basically told me to call back when I had been accepted to the school! I will be speaking to her next week, now that I have been accepted into the college. I’m just getting kind of antsy because I want to make sure I’ve got all my ducks in a row!
