TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

rosa41988lovesu, I will be messaging you for advice!! I am applying to UTHSCH and TWU. Please accept my friend request. :)

I got a 92% on my TEAS! :)

GOOD JOB!!! WAY TO GO!! :yeah:

That's awesome!:yeah:I know that's a relief. I take mine tomorrow, don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep! I've been studying but I have this fear that I'm going to go in, freeze, and forget everything. I'm ready to stop carrying this study book around with me everywhere. I'll let you guys know as soon as I get my results. Congrats again!!

I wasn't able to sleep the night before, either, lol. I slept REALLY well last night because I was so brain dead from that test!

Don't worry, you won't freeze! Just take a deep breath and keep an eye on the clock!! GOOD LUCK!

Thank you!! :D

@ambrekaiI will be taking the HESI next month, would you recommend any material that was helpful?

Thank you so much for the info. Good job on your TEAS!! Is there any math credit other than Statistics required for the program? I have taken only Statistics. Also I am little bit confused about the philosophy credit like there are three courses (Intro to phil, ethics,& logics) can I take any one of these three courses? Congrats again!

It depends what college you are coming from? I have the sheet in front of me.

:yeah:Great job girl, so what was your study method? (if you don't mind me asking). Am taking mine on 8/25 :uhoh21: am ready to get it over with but so scared that am gonna freakout like the first time.

Yes for math you also need quantitative literacy (MATH 1013, I think?) unless you are already core complete. And then for philosophy, you can take whichever of the three you think will interest you the most. I'm taking Intro to Philosophy this fall!

@ ambrekai CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :yeah:That is an awesome score! Your hard work has paid off! Enjoy the rest of your summer before patho starts.

Well the only study material I used was the ATI study guide for the TEAS-V. I also took the tests in the back of the book and online; but because you're taking the HESI I don't know if that would be the right study guide for you. Maybe try McGraw-Hill's Nursing School Entrance Exams? I think I heard that they addressed the HESI in that book :)

All I used was the ATI TEAS-V study manual. What I did was read the entire book front to back, focusing heavily on the areas I knew I didn't know as well. Then I systematically took both practice tests and both online tests over the course of two weeks, studying everything I missed after each test. The online practice tests were much harder than the two tests in the back of the study guide! But I feel like they did a REALLY great job of preparing me for the actual test.

And...that's it! I wasn't as dedicated as I should've been while studying. You will do great!! Just focus on the areas you know you're weaker in. Look stuff up online to supplement your learning; I did that as well.
