  1. Awesome!! Thank you for the advice!! I'll finish my prereq's and look into a CNA programs. I was hoping to start working full time at a hospital when it comes May but I suppose I should look into CNA programs.
  2. Thanks y'all. That's a good point. I actually live in the Woodlands (Texas) and I've heard the hospitals around here are only seeking those with a BSN so I've decided that I'll wait and in the meantime work and save for nursing school. I could probably take pathophysiology this fall... I'm a little nervous because I'm on financial aid and I know you have a 6 month grace period? This semester ends in May. I always think ahead and unfortunately I'm stressing.
  3. I was considering applying to an ADN at my local community college since the deadlines for the BSN have passed. I have all my BSN prereq's complete but I'm nervous that this could be a bad idea. At the same time, I would hate to sit around and wait to hear from a BSN program! Can anyone offer advice? I'm not sure if I should try going for my ADN. Plus the comm college is 15 mins away rather than driving an hour Dtown or relocating. I'm so confused on what to do.
  4. Does anyone know the deadline for fall 2013 at Sam?
  5. I just PM'd you. What's the code for the class? I need help, please.
  6. In regards to the TEAS test, will a calculator be provided for the math portion?
  7. Thank you!!! I bought multiple study guides but that eases the stress!
  8. I'm nervous how that works out, if my transcript hasn't been received but I'm assuming they will verify the grades I've entered manually with the transcripts.
  9. I heard the ATI study guide was the best but it probably wouldn't hurt to study from a variety.
  10. Does anyone know if you can submit your application via NursingCAS without them receiving your official transcripts yet? I entered all my classes in manually. Or is that a no-no! lol
  11. I'm pretty set on retaking Chem just in case I don't get accepted. Otherwise I'll be reapplying with the same stats. I might change my mind though because I need to save up and work while I'm in nursing school!!
  12. Thank you for the support. I've decided that I'm going to retake chem and hopefully replace my C with an A and bump my gpa to 3.7. Since I only have two weeks to study for the HESI I'm leanin towards pushing back my application until next spring. I tried scheduling my HESI in January but the testing center said UTHSC-H will only let you test up to 12/31. I'm afraid that I'll ruin my last attempt because I rushed once again. I'm also applying to TWU and Texas A&M- college station. I have over a month to prepare for my exams and feel that it might be best to wait and if I don't get accepted I will then apply for spring 2013 at UTHSC.
  13. Do you think 3.4 is too low to apply? I'm considering retaking chem. Input?
  14. I would say about 1/3 is basic and the rest medical. The study guide wasn't particularly great for vocab. I believe many people found online resources that were more beneficial than the study guide. I would recommend studying from both.
