TWU Spring 2013 Applicants!

Published

Hello!:yeah:

I know it's pretty early to be starting this forum, but I just wanted to put my voice out there and see if there is anyone else out there hoping to join TWU's nursing program in the spring of 2013? What are you taking this semester (spring 2012), and when are you taking the TEAS-V entrance exam?

After this spring semester of taking microbiology, chemistry, developmental psychology, and statistics, I'll be ready to apply before the September 1st deadline! I'm hoping to take the entrance exam in the summer - probably June or July.

So yeah, I just wanted to see who else was out there!

It's so quiet here now! What's everyone up to this summer? :)

Aww school and work don't make for a fun summer. :( I don't remember, are you taking summer classes?

I don't think 8/25 is too late! It still gives a week before the deadline, and I don't think the admissions committee cares when they get it, as long as they have it before the deadline. So don't worry there!

Thanks for the flashcards!! I didn't know about this site, so I'll look that up today and study some. That's all I've been doing this summer...studying for the TEAS! I'll definitely be happy when I'm done with it.

I am taking A&P II right now and the pace is killer! I am looking to take the TEAS once my class finishes, so after 8/13. I guess I should register huh? Talk about procrastinating. EEEKKKK! Thanks for the flashcards those are awesome!

I recommend that you register asap. I register on Monday and the location that's close to my house (i live in plano) was all filled up on the dates that I wanted.

actually i met with an advisor today, and houston is NOT easier than dallas. It changes with each semester. It just depends on who is applying and what there stats are.

The last few application periods people were accepted with lower GPA's than Dallas . That's all I was saying.

Oh yeah and I'm applying to HOUSTON that's where I live. People say its "easier" because there are less applicants here than in Dallas. If you're a TWU student you know that the majority of the students in Denton are from the surrounding areas of DFW. Therefore, they have a larger pool of applicants which makes it "harder" to get in. More competition.

Thats exactly what I meant.

:-) sorry if I didn't word it correctly. I didn't meant that the campus was easier. I just meant with less applicants, not that it wasn't hard. Thank you for explaining what I meant.

Hello! I went to the information session today at TWU in Houston. I am applying by September 1st for the Spring 2013 class. I calculated my GPA and it is a 3.568 and I got an 84% on the TEAS exam. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has applied before. I would love to retake a few classes to raise my GPA but learned today that all classes must be done my the application deadline. Any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

Gvillala do you have any first attempt A's? Great teas score by the way!!!

Bmart:

I have 2 first attempt A's but I think that might have already been added into my GPA when I filled out the GPA calculator worksheet. But maybe not? Thanks!

Hello to all my fellow applicants! My name is Nicole and I'm applying for the traditional BSN Program in Dallas! I attended an information session on 7/13 and found it to be extremely helpful. I got A LOT of info and questions answered, so if you have any, I will relay the info. I was told. I have a 3.56 GPA (they consider 3.5 to be competitive); I am completely done with my prereqs, 55 of 58 (don't need Woman's cultural studies if your core complete); I have been studying relentlessly for the TEAS V that I will take on 7/25 (they consider 80% to be competitive); and I am registered to take Patho at the Denton campus this Fall! Oh yeah, & I'm SUPER excited! :)
