TWU FNP Fall 2021

Congrats on getting accepted!! I plan on applying for the Spring 2021 program. Any insight on the app or anything or why choose TWU over others? Was your GPA for your last 60 hours decent? (that what has me super nervous bc mine was terrible due to personal issues) thanks in advance and congrats again!!

Congratulations!! So exciting. I’m hoping I’ll be joining in as well. My application states “Awaiting Department Review.” They just received my last transcript sent via snail mail.

Couldn’t find too much info on the online portion of the program, hoping to gain a little more insight. May have to restart the FB account to see what people are saying from previous semesters.

Have you decided to accept? Did you apply anywhere else?

Congratulations on your acceptance! My application is still awaiting department review for Fall 2021. Hopefully I’ll be officially joining you soon!

Do you know how long it took to hear back after your application was complete? I’m nervously checking every day at this point.

I received a call today from the admissions counselor who stated I could hear back around May 3rd... not sure if that was just an arbitrary timeline. She also mentioned they are still completing the Summer cohort and giving permission for some fall applicants (I’m assuming the ones who applied early/more timely) to start earlier.

I haven’t spoken with my admissions counselor since my transcripts were received, so thank you for the estimated time line!

I did accept, yes! I honestly was in the same boat as you, I wasn’t able to find too much about the online portion. Most of the info I got through the admissions counselor and threads from previous semesters. I applied to 3 other TX programs, but this one worked best for me financially.

Thank you! ? TWU worked best for my schedule (and wallet, ha.) My GPA definitely wasn’t great, but it was decent! Don’t let that stop you– I felt the same exact way, but it ended up working out. I applied very early and I think that made a difference as well. I hope you find out soon!!

It took me ~2 months to hear back. It felt like my status was stuck on “Awaiting Dept Review” forever. I applied in early February, and heard back earlier this month. My admissions counselor told me they wouldn’t start reviewing until May and I’d probably hear back in June, but here we are! I hope you find out soon ?

I think you may be right about that! My counselor told me the same thing, but I also applied in early Feb, so I was surprised to hear back so quickly. The whole process took about 2 months from applying to get accepted for me!

How exciting!! Congrats again!! Do you have any info on online/how it works?! Im debating between online and the hybrid program but feeling so stuck.

Hi everyone. My application has been "Awaiting Department Review" for quite some time as well. However, I did receive a call for the admissions counselor today and she informed me that the application reviews are taking longer than expected because the graduate nursing department is busy with Summer orientation Q&A all week. She also said that it is possible that in between all the prep for the Summer session, the department heads occasionally have time to review and process one or two applications, which explains why the acceptances appear so random. I have not attempted to call her so that fact that she took the time to reach out to me and other applicants is encouraging.

That’s good to know! Thank you for sharing that. Still showing the same status on my end.
Not sure in what order they evaluate apps, but my advisor mentioned in 4/12 that they hadn’t had a waiting list established for the fall semester. She anticipated that it would form “in the next few weeks.” So there may be a good chance of acceptance if all of your application materials were in at or around that time.

I heard back from another program but TWU is my top choice. Hopefully we will hear back soon. ?
