Hi everyone!

I just got accepted into the TWU online FNP program for fall 2021! I couldn't find an existing thread, so figured I'd start one.

Anyone else out there who will be joining? Excited to start and hopefully get to know some people.

My status changed into awaiting departmental review. does it mean it's getting close? or still, a long road to run. PMC-FNP applicants here.

I applied for Spring 2022, been on awaiting departmental review since June LOL. I would think long way to go still ?

Hi! I just got accepted for the FNP program for Spring 2023. In currently going to UTA and was wondering if it’s worth transferring? How are classes and the work load? Is it manageable working full time? I’m trying to weigh out my pros and cons

Well @mg10 I don't think I can help answer if it's worth transferring because I don't know anything about other programs. As for this one... I am finishing my 4th semester so I'll be 1/2 done in 4 weeks. I think it's completely manageable to work full time but then, my kids are grown and thus I don't have any other obligations.  I've observed a couple of people in my cohort be quite negative... they thought that all the courses would be "here's how you diagnose that."  However, as you know or will learn the consensus model says that all APRNs will have phatho, pharm and advanced assessment yada yada.... so I suspect that is the same in all programs.  I hope you find the answer you're looking for.....

Do you like the program and have good things to say about it? I mainly want to transfer because its a faster program and they choose all clinical placements unlike UTA where you have to find your own preceptors. I understand any NP Program can be hard, but how are the classes, support, tests, the clinical intensive? Do you have any recommendations? I'm transferring in patho and theory so I'll be taking pharm and EBP in the Spring. Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I have all the information before fully committing and transferring. I appreciate it!!
