Is anyone out there applying for the fast track program starting in the summer for the Dallas campus? I am applying. Will have my pre-reqs completed in January. I am very stressed about them only accepting 30 students!!! Does anyone have any thoughts, concerns, anything??!? I think I am going crazy waiting for April to come to know if I got in or not!
so, out of curiosity, how many people on this board are going to be getting that .4 gpa bump for taking pre-reqs at TWU? i have a 4.0, but all my pre-reqs are from non-TWU institutions, so i'm still stressed that i won't make the cut.
I understand that you are stressed, but I would not be. Well, it actually depends on what your NET score was. If people who have 3.9s and 3.8s are getting in, then I would feel comfortable, ya know? I think this round is going to be a lot harder than the previous ones. I know of about 10 people applying for the program who have over 3.8s (without the TWU 0.4). I do not have the bump either.
When I called they said for that the Spring, 3.7 GPA and 64 NET was considered competitive. Of course, they did let in a lot more students (100-120) than they will be for the Summer (30).
Who knows? The application time is almost here!!!!!!!:yelclap:
Hey guys! I'm a first time user of this website. I really think this is an excellent source for getting information regarding nursing programs. Well, I looked at some your posts and I would like to share some of my own. I'm applying to TWU for the fast track in 2009 as well. I have a 3.89 and I feel good about my chance of getting into nursing school. What I'm trying to say is LET'S NOT PANIC! I understand there are about 30 seats in the summer; however applicants who had a previous BS/BA degree and have GPA above 3.7 are also considerably less. I will pray for all of us so that we can all be classmates in the summer. Cheer up !

Way to stay positive! Thanks! How did you do on the NET?!
sorry...i didn't mean to bring everyone down. don't get me wrong, i feel like i've done everything i can, so i know that if i don't get in, it won't be because i didn't make the grades. i was just curious to know how many of you all had taken your pre-reqs at twu as opposed to elsewhere.
anyway, good luck everyone...it won't be much longer now.

goodluck to you too! It is OK, don't worry about it!!
:clpty:everything is going to be fine. everything happens for a reason.
i'm definitely willing to go with that option...i mean, the goal is still the same, which is just to get in, but for mostly financial reasons, i'm really banking on the fast track. it's going to be a lot easier to swing 15+ months of unemployment (not to mention all those books and supplies and tuition) than 20+ months, or however long the regular program would take.
what other backup plans, if any, does everyone have, just in case? i'm thinking about looking into uta as well. i have a couple of friends in that program right now, and they seem to like it ok. i also got the impression that it wasn't quite as competitive as twu.
I visited with the advisors at UTA on two different occasions, and they were incredibly rude and not at all helpful. And I took one undergrad prereq class there when I was planning to get my MBA, and I didn't have a good experience. The prof was great, and I made an A in the class, but the administrative staff was awful.
I have NO backup plan. None. Zero. Nada. It's all riding on this fast track application.
