TWU Fast Track Summer '09

Are you applying for summer or fall or either? I think you certainly sound competitive for fall. I personally think...and I could be TOTALLY wrong, that unless you've got a GPA of 4.0 and a NET above 80...that with only 30 slots....summer is not very likely. I'm not very optimistic about summer myself. As for fall...you sound great with that GPA. Who knows how much emphasis they put on the NET, but wasn't the cut-off like 55 for that?

yes you had to at least make a 55 on the NET. thats for fast track and traditional. hey sophia, are you gonna accept a spot for the traditional if you have too..and i dont think you will :) fast track sounds good with your grades and your NET. you will be F I N E!

Thank you Prettyladie for your kindly comment. I certainly will be happy if I got into traditional program instead of fast track because I know I will have great classmates like you to study with. :)

I'm pretty sure you won't have to have a 4.0. People on here get all excited and start making others nervous. Just let TWU make the decisions. Till then, goodluck to everyone :wink2: and keep checking the mail... :wink2:

I really hope you're right! I wasn't too worried until I heard someone on here say there were something like 300-350 applicants for summer.

I think it will be a very close race who gets in or not for both fast track and traditional. There are just so many applicants. TWU is for the most part only going by GPA alone. So I'm guessing tenths of a point with determine the cutoff

and the person who said that there are 300 applicants.. how do they honestly know that. i wouldnt worry about it. im mean there might be that many for the traditional. but fast track i doubt it. i hope alll of you get in.

The advisors tell you if you ask them or they use to if they don't anymore. WHy would you doubt that many apply to the fast track?? Accelerated programs for us 2nd degree people are becoming very comptetitive. TCU and now UTA have a lot of applicants apply to their program every year

because i just thought there wouldnt be that many people with a degree already trying to change fields. but i guess im wrong.

Yeah there are a lot of people doing that. Seems to be a lot from the IT field for some reason. I've met business and engineering majors who are switching too. Wish I would have followed my heart the first time but thats a whole other thread!!! I think they are trying to open up some more seats. TWU is use to high volume applicants twice a yr. It would be horrible if they have to turn away someone with a 3.7 or something along those lines. I think they should have fast track at both campuses. That would be a little bit better

You also have to think of job security. As of now the only two fields that are recession proof is healthcare and education. I've actually had people in my classes who want to do nursing because they think nursing school is easy and want a nice paycheck!!!!

aw that's cute. hopefully THOSE people won't get in who think it's a cake walk! little do they know. i feel like i'm a pretty intelligent person, but i know this isn't going to be easy. nothing worth having is!
