TWU Fast Track Summer '09

i went to twu for a year. and no they dont cap out at 4.0. my friend had a 3.9 before the bump. so she applied to the program with a 4.3.

dont worry. you will be fine. because a lot of those who get the bump didnt do well on the NET. i dont know how you did on it, but that weighs in too.

Okay, that's one of the things I was wondering. I know they give a four-tenths GPA boost to those who have completed a certain number of credits at TWU but I was wondering if it capped out at 4.0. From the last post I gather that it doesn't, so some people can be applying with a 4.4. That scares me because I have a 4.0 but it's all from TCC and TCU so I'm really worried.

jtbrass....If your net score is competitive, I'm sure you're fine with a 4.0. The question is....what is a competitive NET score? I've heard of some off the chart NET scores. I agree with the person earlier who said something about TWU possibly looking at "other criteria", which might explain why they are taking so long to process applications. The question becomes then, what else are they looking at? It's not like we'll ever really know. Frankly, I'll be happy with fast track OR fall, but I didn't apply anywhere else.

a competitive net score for twu is anywhere between a 65 and above. it seems odd but it really is. a lot of people have trouble with the reading section on the NET.. so the higher is S U P E R competitive

That's good to hear, because I do have a 79 on the NET. Unfortunately, I just missed the 4.0 GPA. My stats might get me into fall, but I highly doubt they'll get me into the summer program. Who would have ever thought that a 3.98 wouldn't be good enough?...lol Breathe.....just breathe....lol

it is good enough. dont freak. its amazing. i have 3.45, so you're perrrfect.. but im also not applying to fast track.. but i know what you mean. if you got accepted for the fall would you take it? anddd look at it this way.. a lot of the fast track ppl probably didnt take their nursing prereqs at twu..so dont feel bad. you'll get in. im just trying to get a spot somewhere within in the 120 dallas spots and the 80-100 houston spots.. with that gpa.. i have a 76 on the net..so maybeeeeee it will help..but i dont know.

I bet you're SICK of filling out applications....and they are all sooooo different in regards to their requirements. You'll be in by fall....no doubt! :yeah:

i applied to 5 schools. havent heard from A N Y . so now im trying to find a job to keep my mind off of things. and over the summer im getting a phlebotomy certification..so maybe things will work out. im just so tired of people saying you need at least a 3.8 to get in.. when in actuality they are saying the average gpa was 3.8 so that means people on the low end got in..and people on the very high end got in. so dont worrrry just pray it will all work out.

So, I guess not hearing means they could still ALL be letters of acceptance, right? I'm just trying to keep the attitude, that if it is meant to be, it will be. You know? As long as we know that we did everything we could to get in, then it really isn't in our hands anymore. "Que sera sera".

exactly. im just tired of waiting. i hate how long the process is.. its horrrrible. plus i have all this spare time..so its alll i think about.

i have a 3.89 and a crappy 64 on the reading net score... so I'm really worried.
