TWU fall 2023 applicants

Published

Hi everyone! I am hoping to get a thread started for future Texas Woman’s University nursing students. I have been finishing up my pre requisites and planning to apply for fall nights and weekends. I would love to hear from other potential nursing students hoping to get into the TWU fall 2023 cohort.

I could when I get home cause I'm outside right now.

I just checked it but the spreadsheet was in pdf form ? so I do not think you can modify it

Oh OK thank you for the input. I'm applying to Houston campus is it less competitive than Dallas or are they the same?
I will just keep praying and keep faith that I have a chance of being admitted. Good luck to everyone of us.

also , I thought they didn't do the spreadsheet anymore that the application process was more of a holistic selection.

Were we supposed to submit the background check as part of the application??

That's what I thought, probably GPA and TEAS still holds a lot of weight but not as much as before. And I heard Houston is less competitive than Dallas from some students

Yes on nursingcas website

Guys! I am as excited and nervous as you all are. I read all these comments whole day at work and home everywhere.? how did y'all get your cumulative GPA? I mean cumulative GPA of only nursing prerequisite or whole classes. The cumulative GPA in NursingCAS is so low?. Does TWU take 'D's on Nursing prereq classes?

I missed that. Just submitted it now. Do you think that will negatively impact my status? Should I send an email to the school?

TWU Point System .xlsx

This is the excel worsheet. I hope this file works. If not I will try to upload it in another format. I heard they don't use it anymore but you can maybe get a rough idea. I think I heard 43 pts got in the couple years past. But I am not 100% sure on any of it

I think it's C and up for the science pre reqs.  And the nursing CAS GPA isn't accurate and not what they go by if you have taken other classes or have degrees in the past that aren't required for the program.  You can just use a GPA generator online to see your GPA for both the science pre reqs and overall pre reqs of the required classes needed. That's what you focus on only.

Okay good I was wondering that too. I've got a super low cumulative according to NursingCAS but it's collective with just the prerequisites that they take.

Yeah my overall nursing CAS GPA isn't accurate because it's counting my past degree.  Their main focus is the science pre reqs and TEAS, and then overall GPA of the science pre reqs and required general pre reqs

Does each lab count as a separate grade when figuring the GPA? It would raise my GPA a lot if that was the case.

I posted the excel spread sheet for the point system up above. If you enter your grades and how many hours they are worth it will calculate your GPA for you.
