Hello Princess WannaBe and other special Friends:
Soon we will be going through the same agony we just went through recently as we sat and waited on the letters with decisions that were made for our lives at the moment.
We are all going to be positive through this process again and once again
I am positive, upbeat and excited.
TWU Nursing Program here we come:nuke:
Princess WannaBe and others on the waitlist we are still pulling for each one of you to make into the Spring 09 program. Yes, as we know anything can happen...hang in there:yeah:
Prettyladie do you check you twu email account?? It you don't feel like checking it often you can get it forwarded to another email account that you do check often. They mean business when they say if they email you you need to respong back in 5 business days or they throw your application out. You should check into this now before March comes and they start sending out emails you have to respond to.
i check that email everyday. just like my personal one. my friend who also applied got the email. i know i didnt overlook it, but i will check again i suppose. i know they have the correct email address and everything is working, because i got the email from erin about the scholarships a couple of weeks ago. is this a bad sign, because the way im looking at it is like to all the students who got in, we need you to take this class. lol. so thats good in a way. i know that when i started twu, before the new core changes it didnt have anything stated about a computer class, and i know they changed the core for students beginning in fall 2007, so i dont know if that has anything to do with it. but if i dont get it by tomorrow, what should i do, i cant be like hey why didnt i get the email, and it was never intended to go to me.
ladies, ladies, i think im just paranoid. i havent checked my email since wayy early this morning. i just checked it, and i received it. this waiting has me on pins and needles. i wanna let princess, know that i have been reading your posts since you applied last semester and i credit and commend your determination as well as the other people who are applying for the second time. i know how hard it is. i was rejected from baylor last semester and im applying to twu for the first time, with a better gpa. its high on the baylor end, but low on the twu end, because i know the 3.8 and above rule, but im praying hard for myself and each and every individual, because i know this is a stressful time. but i do have questions, do you think that a lot of applicants have opted not to go to houston, because as i was reading threads i noticed that the gpa over the past couple of semesters have been lower than the dallas campus. any suggestions.
PrettyLadie thanks for reading all of my post. I didn't think people were paying to much attention to what I was saying on this board. If you read all of the post on the spring thread I started there was a discussion about the .4 added to the gpa to people who took 12 hrs of prereqs there. I think that's why the dallas campus has a higher gpa cutoff. Most people who apply to the Houston campus I believe didn't take the classes at denton so it's a lower gpa cutoff. Alot of applicants who apply to dallas took classes at denton so of course the gpa is more cut throat there. I know they had more applicants last semester with the .4 advantage than they ever have which causes a lot of problems for people who have the gpa but didn't get accepted. if you don't mind me asking whats your reading NET score and GPA?? Are you applying to one or both campuses?
Good morning to you all!
I am one to be very honest with all new post to this thread so I will share some of my thoughts and knowledge.
Princess and I have been through this trying time together last semester and it gets very tiresome and
very tense at times. I know that I can say without a shadow of a doubt we are here for you.
There are a couple of things I would like to stress:
(1) check your email diligently because Princess is absolutely right. TWU means business when they
say you have 5 business days to answer a email. If your email is not answered within the allotted time your application will be discarded.
(2) Last semester there were more students with the .4 added than any other semester in the past. I was not accepted into the program for the Dallas campus, but I would have been accepted in semesters past and this information came straight from my advisor because I was so distraught.
(3) I do not want to be discouraging to any of you, but emails mean nothing. The only reason emails are sent out is during the individual folder stage the advisor is reviewing individual applications so that they can key in information.
(4) Final results are made when the School of Nursing runs numbers and that is where they get those that are being accepted. TWU Dallas will have an extra 20 seats because Houston takes the Fast Track Program in odd years and Dallas even years.
(5) I am no expert by any means, but I have retaken classes to up my GPA and I have gone through the rejection phase as well so I do know how frustrating this process can be. I did not take all my pre-reqs from TWU so no I do not get the.4 bump, but I had to watch friends receiving acceptance letters knowing if they had not had that boost they would not have been accepted...do you know how that made me feel:bluecry1:
(6) When time comes and letters are sent out I urge each of you to remain positive and find it in your heart to be upbeat with one another. Remember "Rise Above." These threads can sometimes become so overwhelming and panic stricken.
(7) I reason I said the application process is going faster is because I notice there are emails already being sent out if Princess recalls there was about a month we heard not one peep. I also was told by a realiable source.
(8) Princess and I are here as "Veterans" of this process and we are here to help:typing
Pray and let each of us be there for one another. Nursing is not about money it is about the calling God has for you and I...would you be a GREAT NURSE?
hello princess & to everyone else. i know about the .4 i attended the denton campus in 2007, but i dont have 32 hours, i only had like 20 hours then i transferred out. at first i didnt think that was going to be a big deal. but now i know it is. i applied to dallas because thats where im from, and the houston campus because i dont mind moving. i dont have that great of a gpa its on the low end like i was saying. i only have a 3.45 overall and a 3.53 science gpa, so thats why im pushing more towards my other schools i applied to. on the net i got an 89 on the math and 76 on the reading with an 83 composite score i believe. so i dont really know where i stand. i would love love love to go to twu houston honestly, but i will be happy with whomever decides to accept me which is probably one of my other schools. what are your net and gpa.
PRettylady- You will be fine! You have a lower GPA then mine, but a higher NET test reading score. The only score the people at TWU told me they looked at was the reading score and your score is good! Be optimistic! It's in the Lords hands. I only applied to the Houston campus because I live in Houston and I dont really want to move anywhere right now.
What have you heard about TWU vs. UT nursing school? Just curious. People have said that they think TWU treats their students better. I'm not sure though.

Oh, I got the email. I'm actually in a computer class right now so that helps with meeting that requirement.
