This is for students applying to TWU Dallas for Fall 2014 :)
Hey guys! I noticed that there wasn't a Fall 2014 page yet... Probably because its not for another year but I thought I would start one!
I'm currently attending North Central Texas College and I'm about to start my last semester of required prereqs, and I'm taking a CNA class this fall!
I've attended an open house at TWU Denton & Dallas; I absolutely love the campus and the staff seems so friendly! I'm really excited to attend TWU. Hopefully I'll be in Dallas for the nursing program, but if life does not take me in that direction--I'll make my way for a Physical Therapy degree!
I'm sooo excited to start nursing classes and spend time in the hospitals. I'm on this website all the time and I hope there are some people on here applying the same time as me so we can support each other :-)
Tell me about yourself!
Just curious how many Fall 2014 Dallas students started at TWU and took all their pre-reqs there and how many students were transfers? The reason that I am asking is because I would like to know if there are others that feel there is a 'quota' for acceptance.[/quote']I am a transfer..took all my prereqs at a community college.

Also a transfer, I took all of my pre-reqs at Collin College. I had an A in Micro, A&P I and A&P II... My B was in Stats (although I still retook it for an A to bump up my GPA, but first attempt was a B).
I think when I went to the nursing information session they said on average only like 10-15% of students accepted took all pre-reqs at TWU, so I don't think that was a huge advantage... They said on average 50% accepted have a prior bachelors, so in my opinion it seems like that weighs more than the TWU pre-reqs.
Maybe there is hope for me. I too had a 73 on my Teas and I have a B.S. as well. Because of a final grade of 89.5 in my Micro Lab, even though I had an A in my Micro lecture, I received a B for my Micro thus, I only have 2/4 pref. I took 17 hours of pre-reqs at TWU so I am supposed to receive a bump on my already 3.7 gpa. If I do not receive an acceptance during the second round and I have already taken all the pre-reqs necessary and I am presently taking path, then there is nothing that I can do at this point other then to retake A&P2 and try for an A which I will not get the preference for. Since the new program will not require the prefs, then I will have to retake the Teas exam and try for a higher score. So, I congratulate you on your acceptance and wish you the best. I will be applying at other schools to see where I can get accepted in hopes that I make some headway on my goal to become a nurse.

I hope you get in. Best of luck. Perhaps the changes in admission criteria will be in your favor if you have to try another round.
That's interesting because I thought it was if you had a prior degree, then 16 hrs + is considered for the bump. I'm either misinformed or spent $ for classes that I could have saved on at the CC level. I doubt I have a better chance in the future. More students applying every semester. Thanks for your kind words.
I also got into Dallas Campus as a transfer student from UNT with:
4.0 gpa
3/4 preferences
87 on TEAS
Does anyone know if TWU would accept Pathophysiology from a community college or if they want you to take it there? I just saw the community college near me offers it online for the summers.
