TWU Applicants Spring 2011

Published

Hello Everyone,

Well I am currently looking to apply to TWU for Spring 2011. I thought it would be nice to start a thread because I am sure we will all need a good support system. The whole application process is so STRESSFUL!

Lets Get It Started!!!

:pntrghi::redlight: cheap books :redlight::pntlft:

i have a pretty long list of j1s that are wanting to sell their book at a good price!!!

if you are interested, and you will be attending the houston campus...just email me asap.

"you snooze, you lose!!!"

Anyone going to buy the book package or are you all buying separately?

I am definitely purchasing the package (minus the Patho book). The Pharmacology book is a new edition this year so want to make sure I have that right and then we need the bloody online access to the courses. I am just going to cover my a** this semester and shell out the money. Try finding the Patho book cheaper (I purchased mine from a J2 for $50). Oh, be careful when looking online! I was able to find a majority of the books online but the prices were jacked up for several of the books! Good luck and if you need anything (that I can help you with) let me know!

Quick note...you don't "need" the online stuff unless the classes change things. This semester we had nothing required from the online stuff.

TX catcher are you in Dallas? Yeah I dont think pharm will require online stuff..I heard we can study Dr. Tapler's notes and we will be fine. She's the only class where we can do that, lol

Good day everyone! I just want to ask if you all receive any emails from TNSA regarding our orders for the badges and uniforms. Also I want to ask if you guys know when will be the CPR class that the TNSA plans to conduct.

I haven't gotten any emails yet from them. And they said that they will email us about the date/time about the CPR courses.

I am not doing the package, I'm going to try and find the books cheaper. I know they said it wouldn't save much, but not much is still some!! With all the extra daycare I'll be paying for now, I need to pinch pennies where I can.

That's true..I bought some on Amazon last night.

i bought all of my books for around $250-$300...including the online package for assessment. most of my books were bought new. if elsevier can offer it cheaper...then go for it! i will bet you money that they are way more expensive (even with their 'bundle discount')!!

for example:

  • the fundamentals of nursing book is $110 (new) through elsevier and $49 (new) on amazon:eek:.
  • clinical nursing skills and techniques is $110 (new) through elsevier and and $64 (new) on amazon:eek:

you have already spent $100 too much through elsevier!!!

if you take the time to research prices on your own, you can save hundreds.

i still have books for sale if anyone is interested!!! :D

yeah that is very true, Amazon has good deals just need to compare before you buy them. The online package for assessment is that the one that is by Jarvis?

and you don't even NEED the online package for Jarvis!!! It is on the book list, but you will never use it and it is not apart of any assignment that you will have to complete. It is just an extra resource.

BTW, I am Moe, and I am the Vice President for TNSA- Houston campus:yeah:(recently elected and very excited)! I will contact the board members in charge of the CPR-classes and will let you know the dates.
