TWU Applicants Spring 2011

Published

Hello Everyone,

Well I am currently looking to apply to TWU for Spring 2011. I thought it would be nice to start a thread because I am sure we will all need a good support system. The whole application process is so STRESSFUL!

Lets Get It Started!!!

Oh wow, well they gave us a list of books that we need & they suggested that we buy the book bundle but I wonder if we really need all of the books???

Parking is horrible in Dallas, I have to say! & its only going to get worse next semester...they kept stressing to get to school early or else you'll have to park in a remote area which is far & by far I mean a shuttle picks you up from the parking lot every 10-20 min & drops you off in front of the bldg lol But the plus side is we get a new a bldg, which seems like its going to be very nice!

Well if you don't have to pay $80/month and travel 1 hr+ in rush hour traffic $$$$$$$$ And $80 is CHEAP  Booooo

It was great to meet all of you today!!! You guys are feeling the way we ALL did when we first arrived at the university.:uhoh3::yawn::eek::crying2::):D (all of these at once) Just a few tips/reminders:

  • The university does not own the parking garage, so they don't validate!!! Since you are in the Medical Center, parking is going to be expensive, but TWU has the cheapest parking....seriously. In due time, you will see that the parking price is worth it, since you will be at the school all the time.
  • The book list is really long at TWU Houston. I will talk to the professors and see if the book list is the same for Spring. If it is, I will email the list to those that need it. TWU Houston had 12 books to purchase for J1!!!
  • Now is the time to find a friend that is an upper classman. There are some things that I can't tell you my opinion about online (the Internet is public), but if you get to know some of us...we have good advice and what you really need (and don't need) to buy.

Once again, it was a blast to meet you guys in person:yeah:and I am glad you chose TWU- Houston. If there is anything that you guys need...email/call me. If you don't have my number...tough cookies:lol2:!! I will be at Orientation in January, and hopefully we will cross paths then.

BTW, I have advice about Elsevier and the bookstore in Houston...just email me :redbeathe

You crack me up Moe! lol THanks for your advice today. IT was great meeting you!

Hey I was just accepted to the SON for Spring 2011. I see that you guys had some kind of orientation today? I guess I was waitlisted until someone didn't show up to this orientation. I was already focused on going to UTMB until I had gotten a call that I was accepted to TWU Houston today. I also still have UTHSC-SA as a back up. I figured TWU was a better school out of the three just based on reputation. What do you think? I guess I have a lot of catching up to do since I don't know anything about registration, books, supplies, or anything else.

I'm in the same boat as you. I got my call Thursday morning and couldn't make it down for orientation today, but they told me they would be having another one soon! and btw is there a facebook group? I'm looking to see if anyone would want a roommate!

heyyyy miramed im actually trying to find a roomie as well =) email me at [email protected] and maybe we can try to work something out butttt if anyone is looking for a place to stay at around the med center feel free to email me!

Hey do you have another email? that one didn't work for me!

@miramed and kathy. I need a room mate and a room if possible! My e-mail is [email protected].

Congrats to those that were recently accepted!!! Don't feel bad, you are not as behind in the information as you think you are. There is no need to play catch-up...you will have enought time to get everything accomplished :)

Thanks missmoe! I'm just overall excited and nervous at the same time lol

Alyevrielle08,
