Confirmation Hearings for the Trump's incredibly bad choices for cabinet leadership positions. Traitors, drunks, rapists, pet killers and television personalities were the first choice of the mentally ill old man.
My Senator, Dan Sullivan is all over his social media singing the praises of these folk so we should expect most of them to be confirmed.
Hegseths hearing should be starting about now.

Rolling Stone reports that Noem said that Trump wanted this ad campaign thanking him for closing the borders. This is more important than cancer research?
Trump wasn't elected on cancer research so that's an apples and oranges thing.
I do think that at a time when people are losing their jobs to cut spending saying you are spending millions on an ad campaign was poor taste. She could have left that one out. I also think a more effective ad campaign, if we need one at all, would be to feature a tough looking guy from ICE or someone else besides her. Featuring herself seems vanity and self-serving her ambitions.

Right.
I should have compared to the price of eggs and groceries since Trump specifically campaigned on that.
Trump is a expert on groceries, I forgot.
Quote"Very simple word, groceries. Like almost – you know, who uses the word? I started using the word – the groceries. When you buy apples, when you buy bacon, when you buy eggs, they would double and triple the price over a short period of time, and I won an election based on that."

It's a deflection when Trump is working on the border to go to the price of eggs and groceries.
But while we're on it Fox News was still calling it "Bidenflation" the other day when reporting that consumer debt has risen. In a way that's fair in that Trump was only in office 10 days when January's numbers came out.
Still people are pessimistic.
QuoteAmerican consumers had a dimming outlook on the economy in February as uncertainty related to Trump's trade policy lifted inflation expectations sharply higher for the second straight month.
The latest University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey released Friday showed headline sentiment extended its early-month decline, sliding nearly 10% from January to a reading of 64.7. Pessimism over the inflation outlook drove February's final read lower as one-year inflation expectations jumped to 4.3% from 3.3% last month.

It wasn't a deflection, silly. It was a comparison. I compared Trump spending money on ads thanking himself to Trump spending money to cut cancer research. It reflects his self serving priorities and lack of values and terrible judgment.
Spinning current events is always expected in a fascist regime. It's fun to remember when Trump tried to take credit for positive economic trends even when he wasn't POTUS when we all know that Trump never accepts responsibility for things that go badly. He's said as much.

The topic is about Trump and his policy implementation through his appointees. Please explain how comparison of Trump policies is a deflection and doesn't resemble that.
Or, please help me to understand what the topic of this thread is intended to be if not about Trump and his appointees enacting policy.

We were talking about her ad campaign telling illegals to get out, etc. and you brought up cancer research and then inflation. If I have to explain why cancer research and inflation were not part of the discussion we have nothing to say. You can stretch it how you want but I'm out. Respectfully.

Whatever dude. I compared Trump's spending on ads to his austerity with cancer research. You don't like that style and you remind me that you don't like it regularly. Cool. I get it.
Respectfully, you don't get to decide how I talk about Trump in this thread.

New Social Security chief was being investigated when Musk team tapped him
Leland Dudek, a data analyst working in a small anti-fraud office, was suspected of sharing unauthorized access to information with representatives of Musk's U.S. DOGE Service. Now he's the acting Social Security commissioner.
QuoteLeaders of the Social Security Administration had just opened an investigation into a career employee they believed was improperly sharing information with Elon Musk's cost-cutting team when President Donald Trump elevated the employee this week to acting commissioner, according to three current or former government officials with knowledge of the events....
It's not clear what data Dudek shared, but his actions raised enough alarm that he may have violated privacy and tax laws that senior officials placed him on paid leave as they launched their investigation...
The officials, including attorneys in the general counsel's office, also were notified late last week that Dudek had sent harassing emails to employees in the agency's personnel and security divisions to rush them to let several engineers hired by DOGE start work and gain access to agency computer systems. The officials pushed back, saying that they had not completed background investigations into the new hires....
Representatives for DOGE — which stands for Department of Government Efficiency, though it is not a Cabinet-level agency — toured the headquarters building this month and were eager to gain access to a key database in their search for benefits fraud. When the team learned last week that Dudek would be investigated, the chief information officer called acting commissioner Michelle King to demand answers. Then, on the Sunday of Presidents' Day weekend, King received an email announcing that Trump had appointed Dudek to replace her. After being effectively forced out, King abruptly retired after three decades of service, the three individuals said. Her acting chief of staff, Tiffany Flick, also retired....
