Truman Nursing Application Extension

Does anyone have any scoop on why Truman College suddenly, little more than a week before the application deadline, extended it for another month? On their Website there is an announcement that the deadline has been extended until March 1. However, they provide no explanation as to why (or how it will affect the decision process and timeline). I highly doubt they don't have enough applicants unless they are rethinking their entrance guidelines, which wouldn't surprise me, but would also be somewhat shady this late in the game. Just wondering if anyone knows of anything going on, or if it's just a ploy to get a bigger pool of applicants.

Today is going to be a long day.

I got to sleep at 1:30 am, woke at 6 am, held off checking till now. Nuthin'! Guess this is something we all have to go through. Frustrating, but also kind of exciting!

Last year (one class short of getting in), I was checking my mailbox EVERY day...hoping....nothing. They notified us 3 weeks late. How long does it take to email 2,500 students? How do they plan on doing this today?

I appreciate your positive outlook, Thinktank. I have been up most of the night reviewing for my final. So, it has been a pretty intense night. I called Truman this morning, and the secretary said we should receive an email by 4 pm today. I'm now going to crash, as I have work tonight. Good luck everyone! :yawn:

Ahhh! I got into Daley!!

I didn't even apply to Daley, but was worried I'd get routed to Malcolm X since I live right near it and heard they were sending people to the nearest school perhaps.

I'm bummed it's not Truman, but I'll take it!!! At least it's accredited!!

Thanks! I was soooo worried. I am also happy because Daley offers Stafford Loans, whereas the other city colleges don't (I have a BA already so can only get loans, not grants or aid), so that will ease the financial pressure a bit.
