Truman Nursing Application Extension

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Does anyone have any scoop on why Truman College suddenly, little more than a week before the application deadline, extended it for another month? On their Website there is an announcement that the deadline has been extended until March 1. However, they provide no explanation as to why (or how it will affect the decision process and timeline). I highly doubt they don't have enough applicants unless they are rethinking their entrance guidelines, which wouldn't surprise me, but would also be somewhat shady this late in the game. Just wondering if anyone knows of anything going on, or if it's just a ploy to get a bigger pool of applicants.

Hi everyone,

I to applied to the Truman and Daley nursing programs. I'm anxiously awaiting my letters. Has anyone out there heard anything? Seems like quite a few rumors are floating around. I'm so anxious. Everyday since approx April 4 at the mailbox has been a source of disappointment.

i guess you have not read through this thread at all.

There will be NO letter going out. you will receive email from school on May 2.

2 more weeks!!!

i am so nervous

I feel exactly the same. I was pretty much 100% sure I would get in. Now, who knows!!!

I know it is less than a week until we find out but has anyone heard rumors about how many points you will have to have to get accepted for next year? I'm in the same boat as a lot of people in these posts, I am finishing Micro and 227 this semester and because those classes won't count towards getting accepted for next year I'm thinking I will likely miss the cut, meaning for the next year I have no classes to take.

no one really knows for sure what selection process CCC is using. Dr. gurney told me only math, bio, chem and compass score will be considered during selection.

For those who like to see things in black and white. If you type in the address: http//www.ccc.edu/files/2011/healthscience.pdf Under Program of study / Health science you can read the requirements for acceptence to the CCC nursing program for all city collages. I have read through all the threads and understand all the frustration(s) that everyone is going through. I also had a 100% chance under the old rules. The new rules clearly state that the (4) four pre-req(s) will be used. English 101 Chem 121 Bio 121 and Math 118 ( they do not mention what happens in the event of a tie breaker but I was told that they will look at the other co -req(s) . or in my opinion they could use the compass score. ( you can also type in WWW.CCC. EDU and look under program of study/ search for nursing under health science.

Only a few days to go

good luck to all those who have been waiting so long.

English isn't a preqrequisite...and she said it was only the three. Oh well, whatever...at this point, all we can do is wait. Best of luck to all!!!

Yes I agree with you. However that was under the old rules of the road. For example at Tuman, English was not considered a pre-req.

However it is and always has been a pre-req at some of the other city college(s) for the nursing program. The fact of the matter is that it is clearly states on the ccc web page under health science program(s) nursing 2011. That they will use English 101 along with the other (3) three standard pre-reqs. For addmissions. I do agree with you however that at this point it is out of our control and that they will do what they want to do. In the long run it is still more fair than the LOTTERY system that has always been used in the past. I wish each and everyone the best of luck and please never give up.

gluck everyone! just 2 more days

Hey all,

I just found this sight, read through the thread, signed up. All the speculation, indignation, frustration, and anticipation ends tomorrow. I too am anxious, I'm sure we all are. Good luck too you all, God love you all for so assiduously pursue such an honorable career.

Finally decided to sign up for an account on here, although I've been following this threat for a while. I'm SO anxious about tomorrow!! I hope it's email because I want to know asap about my admission or lack thereof. Like many of you all, I've been incredibly frustrated by the application process. I've been given a dozen different stories by different people at different schools and the regional office. Nobody seems to know what is going on, Dr Gurnee included. Sitting around waiting for four months has been painful...tomorrow can't come soon enough!
