Tri-C in Cleveland

Published

A while ago I posted asking about the nursing program application process at Tri-C. I just wanted to update that I received acceptance into the Spring 2010 semester :D. The process was actually pretty fast. I am very excited. Hope to hear from others that will also start at Tri-C in the Spring.

NewStart2010:yeah:

Yesterday I went to Corporate Screening and did the finger printing. I also sent the receipt from the background check to Tri-C. Now I do not know what is coming next. Does anyone know if Corporate Screening will send the results to Tri-C? Or I am the one who should do that...? I am confused...

They will send the results to Tri-C.

Thanks foreverLaur for the quick reply. I guess I have just to wait for now...:)

Yep. In a few days you'll also be able to check the verifystudents website to get a copy of your background check.

I'm starting the Day program in the Fall of 2010. I received my packet on Friday 4/23. My orientation is May 25th. That's also the date I have to have my background check.

Do we have to send the background/fingerprinting receipt to tri-c? Or are the results that are being sent just okay?

Yes, we do. You can send it by fax, mail, or in person.

Thank you!

Does anyone know why Tri-C withholds grades from students? The semester is over and final grades were due today. My professors all e-mailed me today saying grades had been posted and wished us all a great summer. I logged in and I was not able to see my grades. I called Tri-C and asked them why and they said they restrict students from being able to see their posted grades until 5/17. Any idea why?!

strange...mine are posted in my tri-c space..was at tri-c today filing my max credit hour appeal (painful -- they must know that someone with a bachelors will have over 93 completed credit hours) love bureaucracy

cannot imagine why your grades are not posted...aren't your grades at least posted in blackboard? my profs have always given a final letter grade in BB before they turn in the grades to the college

got my official acceptance to tri-c for fall of 2011 and got into Huron for this fall...gonna stick with tri-c due to much lower tuition, higher NCLEX pass rate...so now I hang around for a year waiting to start clinicals...maybe just maybe a slot will open for Spring of 2011....so I can get started

Not sure why you can't see your grades. All of our nursing grades are posted and available to students.

The grades are on Blackboard, but not the final letter grade and I don't want to mess up the calculations. For example, our exams are posted as being out of 123 points or so, but the final grade calculation only has them out of 50. Lots of things like that. Plus, I had a lot of extra points that were added in due to errors that I found that aren't posted on Blackboard. I still have zero grades available - wonder why Tri-C told me that?

I'm not sure if this is normal for all nursing schools, but Tri-C's graduation rate from their nursing program is around 60%. Maybe that contributes to their high NCLEX pass rates? Only the best survive! :-P

The nursing department did say that some people (including me) did not comply with the background check requirements and those seats were revoked so there are some spots open in Spring 2011 now!

The best place to see your grades isn't on Blackboard; the grade center feature may not show your total score if your faculty member didn't set it up that way. Go to "My Tri-C Space" instead; it will be there.

Not sure where you are getting your statistic, but it's not true.
